Guest guest
Hi. My name is Sherry and I am 59 years old and facing TKR on both knees in the upcoming year. Was starting to fill out my seed orders and realized I am planning on having this TKR in February or March. I anticipate being restricted somewhat in my gardening this year. Grandson will do the tiller work, but surely after a few weeks I can stand up and use a hoe. Almost anything I normally do from a squatting or crawling position I should be able to do standing. Will walk down the road to my garden area instead of taking a chance stepping in mole hills/holes. I know I am not allowed to get down on my knees after surgery. Anyone have helpful hints? I know I am being optimistic in planting a garden at all, but it will be smaller than usual, and I am having this surgery to enhance my life not restrict it. I repeat to myself often " physical therapy will be my friend " and " pain builds character " . Hoping a positive attitude will assist my efforts. Nice to meet you all. Hope to learn a lot from you.
