Guest guest
I keep reading this term = 10,000 steps. I have a new knee - 5.5 weeks out now. I am walking in the course of my daily life, no problem, although I am not very fast I do focus on keeping my gait balanced and even. I can do a Costco shop, for example, with no problem. When I ask the physio about walking for exercise she keeps saying, " Later. " Is that right? What is this 10,000 steps about and when do most of you start walking for exercise? Right now I have a land-based physio routine for stretching and building strength in my knee/leg as well as increase flexion, of course. It takes about 30 minutes a day. Then I go to an aqua-physio once a week for an hour. I do water-based strength and stretching routine as well as increasing flexion - about an hour. I do it on my own 3 x a week as well. When do most of you start serious walking? Carolyn
