Guest guest
Mine was too yesterday and hubby just happened to bring me a peice of chocolate cherry cheesecake home, so I got my fix. lol Really I only took a few bites as I'm not too fond of cheese cake but it was sweet and did the trick. ;-) Mmmmm...jelly bellies. lol I like the reds and the greens, oh yeah and the yellows, but I really like the orange! lol ACK! The humidity was horrible yesterday wasn't it! I stayed indoors most of the day and didn't even get in the pool until after 8. I have to change up my schedule on swimming now and then because my neighbor is on to the fact that I swim in my underwear. lol His drive way is far enough away that he can't see anything, but I noticed he likes to walk through my pines now and then. He's 68 years old... I wonder if that would be considered being kind to the elderly?? Gayle *good samaritan* lol > > Oh that pie sounds heavenly, oh the sweet tooth is hitting hard lol. Guest guest
Hi Bobbi,  Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. Thank you for reaching out to me.  We were on vacation for a week...and when we got back the laundry was wayyyyy deep.  I live in San CA. My surgery is scheduled for November 9Th. I selected that far out in order to be able to lose weight and get into somewhat of a better condition so my recovery would hopefully be better. I go to PT three times a week for 2 hrs each visit. Being that my knees have bothered me for at least 15yrs...my ability to walk and do other things has become very limited so my muscle strength is very very low. Though PT is not a walk in the park...I do feel it will help some. My insurance covers the PT for 40 visits a calendar year. That should leave me plenty of visits post surgery along with now. I will also be starting a water class next week for arthritis. I am also hoping that will help.  I am not too proud to say I am very afraid of having my knee done. I fear the pain and the inability to get around. So right now I am concentrating on the prep work and not the surgery itself. Although I have purchased many items I know I will use post surgery.  A friend had the surgery done approximately 3 months ago. I saw her while on vacation last week and I must say I was VERY impressed. She can walk 4 miles a day (walking is her thing) and has no pain and feels great. Her surgery site healed perfectly without any sign of infection. She is a great inspiration. The only issue she says she has is feeling tired more often. So she rests a bit in the afternoon. I think that would be normal after most any kind of surgery for a while.  What exercises are you doing at home?  Thank you for reaching out to me...  Gayle From: Bobbi48C <bchard99@...> Subject: Re: New to this group--TKR scheduled for September 16th Joint Replacement Date: Wednesday, August 4, 2010, 10:28 PM  Hi, Gayle: Iam scheduled for TKR on 9-16 = I am trying to do exercises at home that I got from when I did PT in the spring--I know they are the ones you do when you do rehab after TKR so I am doing good (I think) - I may try the swimming also to get ready for my surgery. I live in Central PA near Penn State - when is your surgery and where? You can write to me here or at my email listed above. I would be very happy to have a " pal " doing the same thing I am doing at about the same time. Hugs Bobbi > > > From: Bobbi48C <bchard99@...> > Subject: New to this group--TKR scheduled for September 16th > Joint Replacement > Date: Sunday, August 1, 2010, 10:59 AM > > >  > > > > Good day to you all--I am a 62 year old mother of 4 grandmother to 9 and Chrisitan Clown. I am scheduled for a TKR on Sept. 16th and I am looking to broaden my knowledge about the surgery pre and post op and some encouragement and tips. I am a bit apprehensive but I had to retire due to my pain level in my knees - AND I am also a breast cancer survivor so I think if I can beat that --I can do this. > Hugs, > Bobbi > > > > > > > > >
