Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I am new to this group and every excited. I have quit smoking 14 months ago and have struggled with not the withdrawals of not smoking but the effects the non smoking has had on my body. I had just turned 40 when I quit and I am very short 5' 1 " (on a good hair day )LOL. I put on 12 lbs which doesn't seem like a lot but on my frame it is so noticable. I have been on every diet over the past 12 months and nothing has worked completely. I have lost a few but I put it back on SOOO easy. I have hypoglycemia so I have always had the luxury of eating liberaly and not gaining so easily BUT I also smoked so after I quit my body went into hyper sleep mode it seems and everything that goes in my month is stored for a later date ... So - to my point! Every diet have tried talked about coconut oil and for some reason I ignored it - until now. 4 different diets have stated to use it to cook, drink it, etc... OK - I am now listening and want to incorporate this into my daily routine but not really sure how and were. I have seen a few posts (on other group) were some have to start slow because it is tough on their stomachs. Is there a site or a book you could recommend? You comments and suggestions are very welcomed. Thanks everyone and I am excited to be apart of this group and I hope this is the one common tread that will help me. I would like to mention that since quitting smoking I have been more active than anytime in my life. I walk 3 miles a day in the AM - Dance twice a week and night and rollerblade or bike ride at night. Tina
