Guest guest
Hi JJ: I took it easy for a few days after having the blood aspirated from my knee the day before Christmas. I still did the exercises but to a lesser degree twice a day. The swelling came down and I am now trying to increase the exercises. Are you taking the pain medication? I notice pain lying down as well but it is not as severe with the pain killers. Also, I found that making an incline with pillows helped to be more comfortable as well as tilting the leg to one side. Good luck! Regards, Ross > > This is the first time I rested since my surgery but my knee has been > hurting even while laying in bed. Guest guest
JJ If you need to now and then I don't see a problem. Trouble is that we also can find excuses. So, if your body is telling you something don't ignore it, but don't let you body tell you everything, if you know what I mean. Heck, even if you stay in bed for a day you can still do leg lifts and bends. Don > > This is the first time I rested since my surgery but my knee has been > hurting even while laying in bed. Guest guest
It sounds like you are not taking enough pain medications. The less pain you have the better you will heal, so take your pain medication. Hope it gets much better and soon. Guest guest
Hi JJ: I rested my knee quite a bit after I got home Xmas day. However, I did keep up the exercises to a limited degree. I also increased my intake of the pain meds and did icing on the knee as well. Make sure you take the meds as necessary and elevate your knee while resting as well. Be sure to keep walking as well. Good Luck. Regards, Ross > > This is the first time I rested since my surgery but my knee has been > hurting even while laying in bed. Guest guest
One of my big problems is not taking enough pain medication. I do not know why I have such a mental block about not taking it.I can also see where a person can put more into the exercise program if I am not hurting. I have got to overcome this road block.
