Guest guest
--- Hey , sorry to hear that you have had a rough time. I have had dizziness and been off balance since one of my c-toma surgeries 3 years ago. It is getting better, yet I still deal with it every stinking day! No, it is not fun and yes it is scarey. My docs also didn't understand why it happened and still don't. One of the risk in having surgery was a small chance of dizziness and I guess I was just one of the lucky ones. You need to pressure your doctor into running test totest for dizziness and then treat you. There are things out there that will help with dizziness. A good website is www.dizzylounge.com I hope you feel better soon and don't let the doctors give up on you. Guest guest
, did your doctor ever prescribe custom ear plugs? You may want to ask. I had some for a while (until I dropped one in a Northern Michigan Lake - darn things do not float). --- <jeniejenie@...> wrote: > > So I was able to get rid of the cipro drops, but to > replace it, I will > now be putting powder in my ear to keep it dry. > Basically boric acid. Guest guest
OK, so I'll have to make sure not to drop it in the lake NO, he didn't, but I asked and he explained that as soon as my ear is healed (closed to where it should be) he will make me a one. For now, I use lambs wool cotton in my ear, as it's water proof. I never heard of the stuff until I told someone at work about my suregry and found they ghad the same thing. Hmmm, small world. Amazing how you don't think the person next to you lives anything but a perfect life. Just goes to show ya. But yes, he will make me a pair. Ooops, I mean ONE (knock on wood)
Guest guest
Be careful with the meds. Oxy is addicting. Hydrocodone is more managable, but also addicting. I was on 2 every 4, then 2 every 6, then 1 every 6, then 1 every 8...then moved on to Tramadol 50mg. While it has been 6 months, I know I haven't had any medication for over 3 months. Don't be afraid to move the knee. The more you move it the better you will feel. I promise that one. I was favoring it the first time around and then used it. Almost forgot I had a TKR by the time I had the last one. Mine was a total. I have a 16 inch scar on my knees, but I tell the guys at work (IT) that it was a football injury and they are comfortable with joking with me about them. Depression can be addressed with Lexapro 20...goes directly to the brain and bypasses the liver. Prevents problems there. Valium is a depressant and typically treats anxiety. You need something lighter...also go outside in the sunlight for at least 30 minutes a day. Vitamin D is critical...milk and sunlight. :-) Anyway...sorry I rambled but I want to make sure that those that are going in aren't worried and know we are supporting them.
