Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Last night I had my first post op office visit with the surgeon. He examined the length of both feet and also told me I could come off the Coumadin blood thinner in four more days and since this is the only medication I am taking, he said that I could start driving. His nurse gave me a prescription for 8 weeks of physical therapy. He said that no manipulations are to be done during these sessions, only exercises and stretching. He told me to come back in 8 weeks for another examination. He informed me that the leg with the THR is slightly longer than the other leg now. This is due to the fact that my knee on the opposite leg is slightly bent and needs a replacement down the road. It has already had two arthroscopic surgeries for torn meniscus and this is the reason for the bending. I will see what PT will do for that situation. I would like to even up the legs. I cannot tell you all how good it feels to finally be able to walk upright after being bent over forward for at least the past four years. My neck was bent also and is now straightening out due to the surgery and the physical therapy. My family says it has made a difference in my posture. I am so looking forward to being able to keep up with grandchildren again sometime down the road. I hope for this. Thanks to all in this group for suggestions and what your experiences have been. I continue to read all the posts and enjoy each of them. Reen
