Hi Russ,

My name is . I live in Peru and I was wondering if you have some information of coloidal silver/magnetic pulser's applicaction in HIV patients.

My wife got the virus in a clinic terrible mistake. Now she's having the cocktail of tree pills and her viral charge is undetectable. Last CD4 count is arround 500.

She looks very well, her hair looks great and actually she's asymtomatic which is called cero positive.

I've been thinking to use beck protocol to get rid of the virus from her. Do you have any documented case about it?

I'll shall appreciatte your prompt response.

Regards,

Hi ,

What did your doc prescribe Lex for  -  depression or anxiety ?  The sort of

reaction you describe is very rare but will probably have worn off by the

time you get this. After such  strong side effects for such a tiny

dose I suggest you ask your doc for a differrent SSRI.  I  recall that

a friend of mine had a similar reaction so you are not alone.

But if you have anxiety problems be aware that it is very possible that your

symptoms are actually anxiety caused by worrying about taking a new

medication  - did you perhaps read about side effects before you took the

tablet and were worried about it?  Heart racing, feeling scared and that you

are going crazy or are seriously ill and need to go to ER are common with

anxiety - believe me I know ....................  the physical reactions

produced by anxiety can be very real.

Lexapro

Date: Saturday, 2 August, 2008, 10:15 PM

Hi. My name is . My dr. put me on Lexapro Thursday afternoon.

1/2 pill every day to start with. So, I took it around 5:30 p.m.

Thursday. By 10 that night, I was dizzy, flushed, heart racing,

tingly feeling. I couldn't sleep at all that night. So, Friday I

called the doctor's office. They said these were normal side effects

and should go away after about a week. So, I decided to not take

anymore. I still felt bad all day yesterday and slept a lot. But,

today I still feel like this. I feel crazy. Like I am dreaming and

my heart is still racing. I've been pretty much asleep all day.

Should I go to the ER or something? Or, is this going to last a few

days. I only took 1/2 of 1 pill so I don't know why I'm doing this.

It's really scaring me!

When I took my first dose of Lex my blood pressure went up, heart racing, Etc. I

stopped taking it for a couple of days and started again, no problems. In my

case it was likely anxiety over taking an SSRI, which I had never done before.

She prescribed it for anxiety. Actually, I am still feeling like that.

I am still lying in bed. I feel like I'm detached from reality. My

heart rate seems okay as long as I don't get up out of bed. How long

do you think these effects will last? It is really scary! Thanks

I had similar effects when I started taking it, especially at night once I got

in bed.  I even had dreams about losing my mind. It went away about a week after

and I haven't experienced it again.  I agree with you - it's very scary.

Hi ,

I don't know hw much you already know about all this - it was all new to me 12

months ago

- its been a tough lesson ...............

The preferred medication for anxiety these days is SSRI anti-depressants -

doctors don't like prescribing  benzodiazepines such as diazepam except for

short periods - they are addictive and can cause more problems long term.

Lexapro is one of the newest SSRI's and usually causes less side effects than

the older ones. However most manufacturers warn that anxiety may actually

increase during the first week or two until an SSRI  starts to work - this

certainly happened to me  - I had the worst anxiety I had ever experienced

about a week after starting Lex  - things started to improve after 2 to 3 weeks

though.

It's hard to believe that the very small dose you took can still be affecting

you physically,

it should have passed through your system by now. Many people are taking double

what you took every day for months without any major side effects.

Of course I am no expert on drugs and its possible you had some sort of extreme

reaction in which case your doctor will probably try you on another SSRI.

I am an expert on anxiety unfortunately - not by my choosing as you will

appreciate - and I know how it can produce the most awful physical symptoms

which although very real are

caused by our anxiety rather than by anything being wrong with us physically.

A know a sufferer who regularily phones the emergency ambulance service here in

the UK with heart pains and the feeling he is dying. He gets rushed into

hospital only to be told there is nothing wrong with his heart. This has been

going on for about 4 years so we can probably assume the hospital tests are

correct and he is not dying !!!

It took him a long time to begin to realise the hospital were right.  With

me it was my asthma which started to get worse and worse about a year ago  - I

went down casualty on a regular basis only to be told my blood oxygen levels

were ok.  After 6 months taking every asthma medication my doctor knew off I

somehow finally realised it might be in my mind. I havent taken a reliever now

for 9 months.  Unfotunately the whole experience left me with severe

generalised anxiety.

This may not be much help and your problems may be completely different but here

is a link to the site of a former sufferer who now helps people with

anxiety - if you are interested you are welcome to my copy of the course ( no

charge - I have finished it now )  It wasnt the complete answer but it and

Lexapro set me on the road to recovery - along with relaxation therapy,

exercise (walking is good), yoga and meditation

Hi na, just wanted you to know that the symptoms of PMS alone may

increase, anxiety, panic and depression in some women. I have PMDD

which is a severe form of PMS, I get all of the great symptoms about a

week before my cycle, panic, anxiety, depression, racing thoughts, so

you are not alone. I do not beleive that the Lexapro is causing these

symptoms after being on it for 3 weeks unless you have been

experiencing these symptoms/ side effects all along. I have been on

Lexapro for 2 1/2 years and this always happens to me so my GYN put

meon the Nuva Ring to regulate my hormones, it works for me. I hope

this helps and good luck!

Welcome!!

I have found this group to be completely supporting of everyone.

Dr. Aceves is the greatest in my book. My expereince could not have been better.

I was banded on 10/1 and I am down almost 15lbs. Love it. I am in a pair of jeans I have not worn for 8months. Life is good, so is the band!

When is your surgery?

You will not regret this!

I am new to the group. I live in Arizona and was told that there is a lot of support here. I go for my lap band on November 7. I will be there on the 6th driving over. I went over to meet the Dr. Aceves and see the hospital. I was lucky that I was there when a group was coming in for there first fill. I got to talk to about 6 girls and 1 husband. Just being able to talk and see someone that has been there and to have my mom and husband there to hear was the best. I would like to say thank you for your time. The only bad part about going over there is from that date (September 13) (I believe) is that I have gained about 6 pounds. I start my protein diet on 10/31/08, is there anything that I need to watch for. I have never had a protein shake before. Special thanks to the two girls that I got e-mails from. H. Holiday and c.

Hi Gracie,

Welcome to this sight and there are quite a few people who will reply to you. Watch the postings. It is a personal choice between the lap band or the sleeve. I went back and forth for quite a few months. I spent time on the Internet researching and educating myself. Then I got on here and started asking all kinds of questions from the people who were on this site and this site really was great and it allowed me make the right choice for myself. I chose the sleeve and I am thrilled I did. For me it was permanent kind of surgery and was by far the best thing for me. Once it was done, it was something I could live with for the rest of my life. It was my tool to allow me to lose about 90 pounds that I wanted to lose. I had no after care required once I had the surgery like you do with the lap band.

With the lap band I felt it required a lot of after care and constant care forever. There are times when you need to have it filled and then I have heard them talking about unfilled. And once you come home from Mexicali you will need to have a doctor in your area who is willing to do this for you. There is also the cost of the fill and unfill and they are in the range of $200.00 to $300.00 every time. Yes, the cost of the surgery is less with the lap band vs the sleeve. But, these are just the facts that I know and I want you to make the choice that is best for you.

I believe in my heart that you will not find a doctor any place better than Dr. Aceves and his staff--most all of the nurses speak English and all the Doctors I saw did. Their hospital is a private hospital in Mexicali and it is amazing-small 35 beds. I asked a question once on this site--Didn't your families all think you were crazy going to Mexicali to have this surgery? They all came back at me with such GREAT things to say about these doctors and how clean the hospital was and what great care they got when there were there for the surgery. And were they ever right. I think I would rather have the Doctors in Mexicali do any surgery on me than any doctor here in the US. I have been to some hospitals here in the US and got an infection from the hospital--that is pretty common knowledge her in the US Their standards are far better than anything the US has to offer you.

Please contact Nina at the hospital and ask anything you want. She is great and will get back to your pretty fast. nina_eguia@...

I hope that helped, please keep coming back and reading the postings and ask any question that you have. Nina will be happy to send you all kinds of information as an attachment to your E-mail and the attachments will answer so many of your question. Congratulations on making a choice to change your life. You with never have any regrets for doing this. It has changed so many of our lives.

Take care,

Suzanne

Hi, Gracie

Welcome to this board. I'm sure there will be a lot of us replying to your message. I am scheduled to have sleeve surgery on Jan. 12 with Dr. Aceves. I have been reading the posts on this board for nearly a year before I made my decision. After reading the posts, I decided to have the sleeve but you'll read there are many who are very satisfied with the band. It's a personal choice. I have visited the hospital in Mexicali and can assure you it is top notch & obviously built for rich mexicans. From those who have posted here, the service is extrordinary. Seems they wait on you hand and foot. I am also 5', 66 yrs. and would be thrilled to lose 50-60 lbs. Everyone has nothing but good things to say about Dr. Aceves and his staff. Just keep reading.....

Thank youy for your reply. my friend is having problems with her band and she has gone to the doctor in TJ five times to get the fill fixed. But she is losing weight. the sleeve is somethig i might think about but what is the differnece? do you lose weight faster with the sleeve? Do you have any problems with the sleeve? Is it more money?

How did you pay for the sergery? I will have to take a loan out to get the money but i want to get healthy and feel better.

I have been to some hospitals here in the US and got an infection from the hospital--that is pretty common knowledge her in the US Their standards are far better than anything the US has to offer

you.

Please contact Nina at the hospital and ask anything you want. She is great and will get back to your pretty fast. nina_eguia (DOT) com

Take care,

Suzanne

thank you for taking the time to answer my silly questions. i am sure there are too many people who ask a lot, but since i am thinking about the sergery, i need to know what will happen. You are all very brave to do this but i know for my life i need to get the sergery because nothing else seem to work. i like what you wrote about the hospital in mexicali and it being nice. not all of the hospitals in mexico are that nice. some are just small little offices or i guess clinics.

thank you for telling me this. Gracie

Hi Gracie,

You asked if we lose weight faster with the sleeve. I have heard we do--I have nothing really to compare it too--I have only had the sleeve. But remember everyone is different. And it is based on you putting healthy foods in your body and not junk. Remember everyone at some point and time is going to have a treat to eat--we have all done it. But it requires a lot of commitment on your part along with regular exercise. I have not had ANY problems with my sleeve what so ever. But remember when you first come home you are limited to eating 10 days of clear liquids, 10 days of mixed liquids, and 10 days of mushy foods. You are allowing you new stomach to heal and you will have some swelling because of the surgery on your new stomach (sleeve). I promise you that the 1st month is the hardest. Once you get past that, it just keeps getting better each day. And at first you really will be ok with just the clear liquid and you will eat small amounts of food compared to anything you eat now. I can tell you about eating small amounts of food, but until you experience it yourself you really won't comprehend what I am saying. The cost of the sleeve when I had mine was $9,500 and that covers your surgery, hospital stay, tests, your doctors checking on you 3 or 4 times a day and one night at a hotel before the surgery. So what I paid for was money for food the night before the surgery, and my air fare round trip from where I live. They pick you up at the airport in San Diego and that is included in the cost and they return you to the airport in San Diego the day you fly out. They will tell you what times they want you to arrive and when they want you to depart, so that you don't sit too long in the airport.

I had the money to pay for the surgery so I didn't have to consider anything other than to take it out of the bank. They ask that you pay a deposit to hold your surgery date. There are various ways to pay for this. Some people have taken out loans, paid for it them self, put it on a credit card. That again is a personal choice. Yes the sleeve cost more to begin with, I believe the lap band is about $7,300 but if you include the fills and unfill's and over the years I think the sleeve cost less. You have to figure out what is best for you. I believe that the sleeve will be preformed more and more in the future. I have friends who have the lap band because they did this before I did and that was all they were offering at the time. They now tell me they wished they would have waited and had the sleeve. You can convert over to the sleeve from the lap band and Bipley told you that she did it and loves her results.

There are never stupid questions--just keep asking. We have all been here and asked all the same things that you are asking. Keep educating yourself and asking questions. You can't afford not to do this for yourself. It is about the quality of your life and good health. You will save a ton of $$$$$ on food, going out to eat and medication and in the end you will have saved enough to pay for the surgery.

Take care,

Suzanne

The sleeve is pretty darn great. I've was originally banded and I had it removed in favor of a sleeve due to lots of band problems. There are no fills and unfills, no maintenance, nothing. Weight loss is a bit faster and stats show it is better at the end of five years than banding. It does cost more but when you figure in after care with a band it is probably a wash or cheaper in many cases. Nope, no problems with my sleeve. I love it.

Be careful about that too, many doctors claim they work out of a hospital but they don't, it's a clinic where they do surgery. On Thu, Dec 18, 2008 at 11:12 PM, Grace St. Onge <goodnessgracie1965@...> wrote:

Thank you Bipley for your help. how long ago did you have the sergery? I am hoping to understand how long it will take me to lose weight. i guess anything is better then not losing any weight. i think my age has made it harder to lose my wieght and not doing any exercize is not good. i have friends who think i don't eat much but i must be doing something wrong to get so big. that is why i think my age does not help me like when i was young.

Thank you everyone for being so nice and helpful. what do you all eat now? my friend couldn't eat much after sergery but is now able to eat more. but what does the sleeve let you eat?
