Guest guest
Low female libido is usually due to low male testerone. Yes ladies, we got some too. I swung the " other " way and it about drove my husband nuts. He kids me and tells me it is what caused his heart attack. At first we sorta made up for all those times his testerone worked well and I could not have cared less, did not have the energy, the drive, the desire and just plain did not want him to tough me, but just before the heart attack, he would call me before he left work just to see if I had the " itch " . Then proceded to tell me to scratch it my self as he was tired....So, I just sort of put it on the back shelf, then the heart attack happened and quite frankly , it affected more than just his heart....So, I just ignore that ole' testerone and figure that I am just lucky to have him around to change the light bulbs for me..haha Seriously, check with your gyno or at least the pcp and ask him. There is a female viagra and if memory serves me right I think that there is some sort of cream that you can rub on your wrists that is supposed to help. unless you don't want it to change, In that case, let that dog lay. take care in Mo. Re: Libido Same here, although I was chalking it up to depression (although I must admit that a complete lack of sex is also more than a little depressing <sigh>). I'm at my lowest weight in well over 20 years and I figured I'd be tackling my husband every time he came through the door. I can't remember the last time I even WANTED to have sex. 271/165/(115 - some day) Jan 20/06, Dr. D in Michigan (my hero!) keallison@... wrote: > > > Funny you mention this-- I was thinking the same thing! > > :-) Kathy in VA > 7/6/06 > 297/193 > > -------------- Original message -------------- > From: " dimndznprlz01 " <teacher4la@... > <mailto:teacher4la%40hotmail.com>> > I'm curious, in the last few months, my libido has been nil. Guest guest
Really? My last blood work showed that I was distinctly Zinc deficient. Maybe that's part of my problem. For the record, I'm 39, trying to learn to get enough exercise and ovulating regularly for the first time in my adult life (thank you Dr Doroghazi and the MGB!). I'll try the Zinc (and maybe a few other vitamins - yes I take the recommended multi's). wrote: > Are any of you lacking in the libido dept taking Zinc? Guest guest
Alright I am glad that someone brougt this up... I am only 27 years old and I have the same issue.... HELP! I went to my GYN last week and she recommended YAZ birth control to help even out the hormones... I gotta tell ya so far this has done nothing but make me sick to my stomach with nausea. She also recommended having the Thyroid checked because a libido issue is linked with the thyroid... so that is my next step to go get some blood work done again and have it checked. I have to do something about this soon ... my husband and I are frustrated!! LOL So if any of you have a solution please post it for the rest of us! Guest guest
There is a book called, " Tales from the Medicine Trail " , by Kilham. He traveled all over the world looking for medicinal herbs. He states that Maca is the herb for libido. Page 184, he gives this experience. " Toweled off and rag-doll relaxed, we had fortune smile upon us with our very first maca experience. At a small bar at the spa, a woman was making blender drinks that consisted of cooked maca, honey, vanilla extract, and a little quinoa, a nutritious Peruvian grain. The drink was delicious, with a viscous consistency and a mildly sweet, nutty flavor. I was so enamored with it that I downed the first tall glass of it and had another. Maybe it was my imagination, but I swear that the drink made me feel vigorous and full of energy. I walked outside and did stretching exercises, working the kinks out of my body. I felt magnificent. On page 187 he says, " Of all the claims made for maca, those that have been corroborated in the lab concern stamina and sexual function. In animal experiments, rodents fed maca demonstrated increased energy and exhibited an exponential increase in sexual activity as compared with animals that weren t fed maca. Though no formal studies have been conducted on maca's use for hormonal enhancement, some physicians claim success with maca for exactly that purpose. " He says on page 186, " How Much Maca Should You Take? A lot! " In the U.S., you can find maca in powder form, tablets, capsules, and liquids. But when you take maca as a supplement, does it work the way it works for Peruvians who eat it as food? It's mostly a matter of dosage. Peruvians who eat maca as porridge, chew on the maca tubers, or consume blended maca drinks typically to get 5 grams to perhaps 2 ounces or more per serving. But supplement companies put only about 500 milligrams of ground, dried maca in each capsule and recommend three to six capsules daily. Rare is the herb that works in such small doses. I believe that to get any benefit from maca you'd need to take a minimum of 5 grams-10 capsules of 500 milligrams each - of powdered maca daily... In toxicity studies conducted in the U.S., maca showed absolutely no toxicity and no adverse pharmacologic effects. So you can be generous with the amounts of maca product you take. " So, there you go. The libido herb. Anyone wanna experiment? Teehee a
Guest guest
Had to put in my 2 cents. I am 47 had the mgb 3 1/2 years ago. I love sex-can't get enough and have even had sex twice a day on a number of occaisions. My husband also had the mgb 3 1/2 years ago- we both have a better self image and more confidence more energy and the sex is great! Because I feel better about my body I feel sexier and that helps. I have several friends in their 40's and 50's that really enjoy sex at this time of their life- I think if you used to want sex and see a difference in your attitude or desire then you should look into it- if you never really cared and haven't changed then that is fine too. I think as with anything if there is a drastic change you should seek medical advice. I was actually going to ask my doctor how my sex drive could increase so much because it definitely has and I hope it stays this way for a long time to come. My husband and I are pretty much on the same page which also helps. Just my 2 cents. Guest guest
Wow what a thread I openned!! I'm glad to see so many people chiming in on this subject. Just to clarify, I am 33 and newly married. I have had an amazing sex drive for most of my adult life. In the " O " department, I have been truly blessed. Now though, I feel just about dead from the waist down. That is quite a dramatic shift in only the last couple of months. Yes, I exercise 3-5 times a week and am starting to feel better about how I look. Even when I was 350+ lbs, that didn't slow my sex drive much. It is probably hormonal. I take zinc, so it isn't that. I've seen the Dr's posting about testosterone. I've also heard that the estrogen patch should not be taken without testosterone if you still have a uterus. So I will go in and let my gyn know what is going on. Well, at least I'm not losing my hair anymore, but I'm not happy about losing my sexy time either.... in LA Dr. R 7/06/06 25 min 338/

Guest guest
Quite some time ago I posted something on libido to the list. I tried to access the post, but groups search function is not working for me these days. coconut-info/message/3187 So I am reposting what I had written below. Alobar You ready for dat? I went to the little Vietnamese grocery store earlier today to buy a whole case of coconut milk. The little old lady shopkeeper, who barely speaks English held up her palm like a traffic cop, halting me as I put the case on the checkout counter. She had an impish smile on her face. She asked me " You buy lotsa coconut milk with good fat! Not watery stuff. You know danger? " I must have looked quite perplexed. She giggled and said " You not careful, you live 100 year. You ready for dat? " I shook my head vigorously in affirmation & smiled at her. She continued to warn me with mock sternness in her voice, wagging her forefinger at me like I was a small child she was scolding. " All this coconut milk! " she said. " You clothes no fit soon. You get skinny & have to buy new clothes. You ready for dat? " I nodded gravely & said I was ready for that. She then said " You get like young man & get in girl trouble like years ago. Much trouble! You ready for dat? " This one took me by surprise. I had not heard of this property of coconuts. I thought about it briefly, smiled & nodded my head vigorously in affirmation as I said I was ready for that as well. She smiled at me & said " I bet you are! " giggled at me & blushed. As I was leaving the store, I asked her how she knows all that. She looked at me with much pride & said " I from Thailand. From country. We know the old ways city people forget. They get fat & dull & die too soon. " As she held the door open for me to get thru with my arms filled with the case of coconut milk, she said " You be back soon. 1 box not last you long. For girl trouble you need come back here soon. Â It never dawned on me that it was the CO oil until I accidently read about this effect while googling about CO. Â I sat back and said to my self... " so that is what caused this huge change " .
