Guest guest
Thanks I am glad you agreed, not only can't this poor lady exercise, when you are in pain and can't get around it also affects your mood, and if you happen to be an emotional eater then you are in trouble as I was I got sick and tired of getting joints replaced sick and tired of doing re-hab Sick and tired of not sleeping so lost the plot there for a whole. But I am a fighter normally and won't give up normally And managed to turn my life around. Perhaps because the O/S knew me personally he knew it wasn't me in there, as I hadn't been overweight all my life. So I would get another opinion and in the mean time even 10 lbs is better than nothing, they will see you are trying and hopefully get The very needed surgery done. Neurontin does cause weight gain, I was also on that for chronic pain, x -- Re: Weight Loss and Total Knee Replacement Surgery (Bringing back an old topic!) I would agree here. You need a new doctor. I was about 40 pounds overweight when I had my surgery, and my surgeon, who is (genetically, I suspect) as thin as a rail, never murmured a word about it to me. I have since lost 20 pounds and am on my way to losing the other 20. Here¹s the deal: it¹s very hard to lose weight when you¹re immobilized. I¹ve been fighting my weight all my life too, and I know that exercise alone is useless, but it¹s also a vital component of any program together with eating less. Necessary but not sufficient. But necessary. This is a Catch 22 you¹re being presented with: you¹re heavy partly because you¹re immobilized, and no one will intervene to fix the cause of your immobilization because you¹re too heavy. Get over yourself, doctor. Wake up and smell the roses. I agree with what someone else said, 20 pounds isn¹t a lot of pounds. So, to turn the argument around, we¹re delaying what really could be life-saving surgery over an issue about 20 pounds??? Get another opinion. Most surgeons have more sense than this one. ________________________________
