Guest guest
Its for your own safety, that these measure are taken. The last thing you need is an infection from the surgery putting you out of action for more than 6-8 weeks more likely six months. So just grin and do what you have to do, having rotten teeth isn't good for your health whether or not you have surgery. Good luck. -Original Message------- From: navyvet30 Date: 08/11/11 13:17:19 Joint Replacement Subject: GOING BACKWARDS THOUGHT I HAD FINISHED ALL MY EXAMINATIONS IE ECHOCARDIAGRAM, ELECTROCARDIAGRAM. Guest guest
I am confused about the " pulling teeth " thing. I certainly never had any teeth pulled before my TKR. My friend's father in the Netherlands, however, had his all pulled before heart surgery. My husband, who had a bi-pass 14 years ago, never had his pulled. I certainly understand the connection between bad teeth and infection, as we have discussed in this blog, but having them all pulled? I think that is a bit excessive and do not understand why it is done in some countries.  Joan ________________________________ From: " maryanne.waspe1@... Guest guest
I didn't get any teeth pulled but I had to have some special XRay of my teeth and jaw to check it out before the surgery. when I broke a tooth soon after the surgery they gave me antibiotics to take before the dentist worked on it. Guest guest
Ny all accounts, after you heal up, the pain is simply gone. End of story. In a message dated 8/12/2011 3:11:50 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, chgayle@... writes: I have some of the same thoughts on double hip replacement. Will it indeed take away enough pain to get me off anti inflammatory and pain medicine? Is the surgery going to be worth it? Or should I just keep moving by taking the meds? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
