I too had the blisters and itch from the tape. I am now 8 wks post op and still itching but at the point where I can now use lotion on it and that helps. I was scratching everywhere on my leg but my incision. Not fun...........Hang in there, It gets better.

I've learned the hard way (from breast surgery done 15 years ago) that I'm allergic to the tape in Steri-Strips as well as from Band-aids or any other kind of adhesive tape. And no matter how many times I make note of it when interviewed about my medical history, no-one ever seems to notice it. So, after each knee surgery, when the staples were removed, I had to insist "NO STERI-STRIPS." I think they're more of a problem near an incision where the skin is doing its best to heal. So from now on, just insist that you cannot have those pesky things put onto your skin! And, BTW, each of my knees healed perfectly all right after the staples were removed without benefit of extra adhesive tape. from ColoradoKeimM43@... wrote: I too had the blisters and itch from the tape.
