Guest guest
I had left knee done Oct. 28. My doc said no more using the walker (last wk), I am graduated to a cane. The knee itself still hurts a lot, 2 to 3 all the time, 7 or 8 if I twist (dumb!) or try for a sudden 105 ROM. P/T 2x wk, and I was sent to a (?sp?) lymphodermal specialist for swelling in foot, although the ultrasound they did showed no blood clots. My R. knee had MCL problems 3 years ago, so it hurts a lot now, as I use the R. leg as the strong (standing up on it) leg. But pain pills work when I remember to take them on schedule. My doc sez I should be getting off the prescription stuff and moving down to Advil. I am not so sure, and have not tried it yet since I still have a bunch of goodies left over from when it REALLY hurt. The best advice I have gotten from another TKR on this website is that her (his?) doc said walk for 15 min. every waking hour. That seems to feel OK, the real pain is when I am getting up ftom a chair or toilet, or sitting down. And then it hurts for 10 -15 min. or so after. I feel kinda foolish whining like this but the doc does not seem to listen real good, the P/T gal is nice but just focuses on what I have to do during her 45 min. This website feels sorta safe ( I thunk). Nuff for now. ////OldClimber
