Guest guest
I've posted a few times about how I crochet to keep arthritis out of my hands, and my mind off of the knee as it heals. (Almost 9 weeks post op now.) Like most knitters and crocheters, I will carry around a small project with me at all times in case I have to wait somewhere. Well today it was an absolutely gorgeous sunny 75 degrees, and I was really feeling good. Not even using a walker or forearm crutch to get around. Feeling so good in fact, that I went out with my 10 and almot 12 year old Girl Scout daughters to sell cookies in front of a local Walgreens pharmacy. We were selling cookies like crazy, or rather they were. I sit back and let them handle things. They're old enough, much cuter than I am, and do really well. I keep an ear out on how they give change, and busy myself with small crochet projects. Today I finished up a very fun berret style hat that looked like it had curly pink party streamers hanging off from all over the hat. My older daughter put it on as soon as I was done, and not 20 minutes later a cookie customer wanted to know where she had bought it. I thanked her for the complement and explained that I had made it, and that I crochet as a kind of therapy. She asked if I sold my hats! I have only sold a few comissioned items. Most of what I make is for family, friends and charity. I offered it at $10, and she bought it! The girls and I enjoyed some well erned tacos on the way home today! I love it when therapy becomes profitable! But on a more knee replacement agenda, I rally was so pleased to have warm weather today. It was so much easier to walk. The knee didn't get stiff or hardly even click! Another cold front coming in by next Tuesday, so I'm getting out and enjoying it while I can. Spring and summer can't come fast enough!
