Guest guest
What is the deal with whey powder anyway? Surely the whey that is in good cultured probiotic plain yogurt has the same benefit? I can't have dairy in general but the yogurt I can cope with, especially long-cultured that endows it with a much higher concentration of bacteria than the commercial stuff, and also digests most, if not all of the lactose and changes the casein structure into a much more tolerated form. As a by-product of the dairy industry that used to be discarded, whey should be very cheap so isn't the fact that is now marketed as a 'health-food' supplement and is charged a fortune for, just a marketing hype??? Coconut oil used to be cheaply obtained but now the commercial aspect has jumped on the bandwagon with the reputed health-giving properties of the stuff and are now marketing it as 'organic pure virgin oil', they can, and do, charge a fortune for the stuff. Once upon a time, believe it or not, before the advent of chemicals, EVERYTHING was naturally organic, good quality and affordable, but now we have to pay through the nose for the privilege of having anything that is not chemically contaminated! It should not be a privilege - it should be a right! Doesn't it just really rankle.
