Guest guest
Ha, hope I got your attention with the wacky subject heading. I actually did this after having my long-awaited THR Number Two, when I was still in the operating room and they had just woken me up from the anesthesia, which apparently has the same effect on me that alcohol does--I get giddy and a bit flirtaceous (alas, now that I have two artificial hips, I no longer dare risk a fall due to alcohol). Anyway, I told my orthopedic surgeon (and also the anesthesiologist for good measure) the Japanese equivalent of " I love you. " (May I add that I am female and they were male; they would have been even more startled than they were had we been the same sex.) Since then, my orthopedist, who previously appeared to have about as much personality as a rock, seems to have gained a genuine interest in me as a human being. No, it's not a romance. But even doctors, it appears, need a little TLC now and then. Has anyone else said anything weird to their doctor after waking up from anesthesia?
