Guest guest
Medication Disclosure: You should NEVER sneak medications into the hospital unless you want to endanger your life. I have seen people die from mistakes at their own hand, thinking that it was no big deal. Regardless of prescription meds or holistic supplements, your nurses and doctors need to know everything that you are taking in the hospital. You are playing Russian Roulette with your life if you choose to take your own meds. The bedside nurse is your advocate and you need to ask them to advocate for you. If you are concerned about getting your medication when you need it, explain that up front! If you feel the bedside nurse is not helpful, ask to see the Charge Nurse. They are responsible for the entire unit. If that doesn't help, pick up your bedside phone and ask for the Patient Advocate. I am proud of those of you that are explaining the dangers of self medication in the hospital. This is yet another example of why this group is SO helpful!
