I am typing this left hand 1 finger-both arms broke due to osteo-desparate

for osteo specialist since docs so far haven't stopped it & I fear losing all

my bones. Also need TKR

both knees-pls advice good doc for that too- I am so desparate for docs here

are doing me no good help me get good specialist~~~what site can I look? So

hard even to type this need narrow down surftime-pls ideas will travel in

state anywhere,live coast east by Daytona have good friend helping me just no

docs who know what they're doing.I pray can find doc soon before something else

breaks my bones are so weak.

I live in Atlanta and have had to recommendations for surgeons. They are

affiliated with Piedmont Hospital where I had a kidney transplant and some

minor operations, Have nothing but the highest praise.

I can give you more info if that is an option

I will need to be closer than Tampa I think since that is over 3 hr drive-is

that doc that good paula?

gainesville closer will try them unless tampa is better? i am in such pain

& so scared my left arm is almost about to snap then no arms-pray for me

Florida Orthopedic Institute in Tampa - stay away from their pain doctor Herson,

but the rest of the staff has a a good rep, and their PT is excellent. Good

luck.

There's an orthopaedic clinic in Gainesville which is considered to be

one of the best in the United States. Also Dr. Doer (or Dore) is

in Celebration (near Disney) and is considered to be quite good.

The pain doc Herson stinks but FOI has a good reputation. If Gainesville's

closer, go for it! With UofFL there, you may get more help.

I see an excellent metabolic bone disease doc in Oakland, CA - Elliott

Schwartz MD. He is also a nephrologist. I see a LOT of doctors and he is

one of the best. His phone number is 510-451-3800.

I am curious which osteoporosis treatments you have tried already, and what

was the result. Do you know why your osteoporosis is so bad? Were you on

prednisone?

thanks paula-i have wonderful pain doc now,he is main reason i am still

alive! went thru nitemares before tho to find him sounds like Herson another

nitemare-boy if they only knew what it takes to hang on with 24/7 pain, i think

karma will get them i am trying best to maintain, have angel of a friend

helping me keeping my spirits up,plus family far away but here if i need them

always so am very lucky.

Having been through the pain round-de-round, believe me, I have been on the pain

doc round-de-round, and that delayed my LHTR by years. I wish you well! I

finally had to see in myself the traits of courage, stubbornness, and hope that

kept me pushing ahead until I got the help I need. There can be benefits to

being a cranky Danish redhead. Don't give up, sweetie - we're pulling for you!

I just think for something like a hip replacement you are generally better

off going to a big city like Atlanta or Miami.

I had a friend who had it done in Orlando and they messed it up, was redone

in Atlanta

Most of the better doctor want to live the big city life. I am not saying

that this is a guarantee, but I think it is a good guidline
