Guest guest Posted May 19, 2010 Report Share Posted May 19, 2010 Leann Most of our homes in Australia except for the very old Queensland homes are on concrete slabs., We do not as a rule have homes with basements. x   -- Re: Shin Splints and possible Stress Fractures with lots of leg and foot edema etc. Well as it turned out it had ONLY to do with the aerobics taking place on a concrete slab that was hiding under the unpadded wooden basketball court floor. Not a good idea for folks like me I guess. And I never realized how living in a basementless house built on a concrete slab might also affect me when my knee and hip got to where they were causing me to go thud thud and lean to the good leg rather than evenly go spring spring with my so called flexible feet or flexible arches " . (look the last term/s up there is a definition for that. Take care and thanks for the sympathy. Same goes out to you. I am so lucky to finally have gotten an annually renewable handicapped sticker from a doc who believed in my dual plight even though he could not fully comprehend it.
