Guest guest
No you can't replace baby formula with coconut milk as apart from the same type of fat the comparison stops there. Coconut milk does not have any calcium and other nutrients needed. The Idea of some goats milk is good, I would never do 100% though. Adding a little of coconut milk would be ok but maybe 10% Mylanta is mostly calcium and Magnesium which is not bad but does carry other things as well. I would strongly suggest that she take the baby to a Naturopath and get her on some HOMEOPATHIC medicine. My daughter had colic and Homeopathic medicine was the only thing that worked and pharmacists hear that all the time from mothers. Since babies are so pure and unpoluted homeopathic medicine works for them even better than in adults. Without any side effects. I was able to buy my daughters colic homeopathic medication @ the health food store and it came in little pills that instantly dissolved in her mouth or in a little milk. But if the problem persists then there may be another deformity with in the digestive tract and I suggest she get a second medical opinion. > > Hi, I need some advice again! Guest guest
Not true. My 9 month old son has been on coconut milk since about 6 weeks old. The formula in the store is 55 percent CORN SYRUP SOLIDS. Which is garbage. Its not difficult to do better then that. Jules. Sent via BlackBerry by AT & T Re: coconut milk for newborns? Guest guest
I agree about infant formula being garbage, but how does your baby get protein, Calcium Magnesium, vitamins? Guest guest
I give him an awesome multi vitamin in dropslet form and he does have goat milk at night. I don't have insurance for either of us so I pay cash to have blood work done on him periodically. They say he is one of the healthiest babies they have ever seen. That formula was giving him rashes, thresh, awful stomach problems. Just like anyone would react to such a high amount of toxins from the corn. People have told me I am crazy for giving him coconut milk. Try to read the label of any formula container. Oh and I also suppliment him with the nsc company's beta glucan 3 mg because I am a hospital employee and I worry about bringing sickness home to him. And for the record he has never been sick. Guest guest
wow, that is pretty incredible that he is doing so well on coconut milk. My concern is that as he ages that is when you may see some results of him missing some nutrients. Vitamins are great but whole foods provide many micro nutrients that vitamins do not carry. The fact that you also feed him Goats milk is a good idea to help him get some of the other nutrients he is not getting from the coconut milk. I imagine you buy coconut milk that does not have any preservatives in it. Since he is 9 months old he must be eating solid foods by now which will also give him needed nutrients. What you are doing makes me think that coconut milk is much more beneficial than I first thought off. > > > Not true. My 9 month old son has been on coconut milk since about 6 weeks > > old. Guest guest
Since about 6 months I have been making all his food at home. He eats every color with an emphasis on red and purple for there anti fungal properties. The only grains he ever has are quinoa and occasionally amaranth. I don't know if you live near a trader joes, but there coconut milk is 99 cents a 14 oz can and there is only 1 ingredient on the label. Some of the other places I have shopped for it has some wierd stuff in it. You do have to add a ounce or two of water because its pretty thick. My baby was so sick from the conventional formula, when I gave him coconut milk its like he came out of a fog. Jules. Guest guest
I live in Canada so no Trader Joe's here but since I live in a very multicultural center( just outside of Toronto and it is known to be the worlds most multicultural diverse city) I buy mine @ an Asian Market. They carry many types but only one type which is in a tretra box is the only one that doesn't carry a preservative. Aprox. 1 liter(aprox. 33 ounces) is $2.79. Sounds like your child is getting real optimum food and thus being so healthy. My 12 year old daughter shows signs of not tolerating milk and I have substituted some of the milk with coconut milk, no upset stomach from that. Keep up the good work your child is benefiting from it. > > > > > Not true. My 9 month old son has been on coconut milk since about 6 weeks > > > old. Guest guest
Formula is hardly even food, even with coconut milk, but you can make it better for the baby by adding uncooked whey powder. It will bring up his immune activity too. Duncan > > Hi, I need some advice again! Since I am new to the coconut theory i need some imput. > My 2 month newphew won't keep down any type of formula. Guest guest
Other thing is formula will not contain inulin to grow a healthy bowel culture. This food is supposed to make his probiotic bifidobacteria be the dominatnt bowel bacteria until he's much older. If it's not put in there, the boy will probably have a lifetime of bowel trouble and immune issues. Duncan > > Hi, I need some advice again! Guest guest
A little coconut milk would be beneficial. My two young daughters, 2-6 yrs. drink only goat milk, NO, colds. Guest guest
My baby had extreme sensitivity to dairy. It was a hard few weeks before we figured out what works. I wasent making enough to sustain him. Oh and I don't add it to the formula. He just gets the milk. Cheers. Sent via BlackBerry by AT & T Re: coconut milk for newborns? Guest guest
Alobar, yes I read that milk contains some inulin but the amount is very low. Normally the breast fed baby grows its gut culture with lactose, and other components of the milk create a suppressive environment for many bacteria. all good, Duncan > > > > Other thing is formula will not contain inulin to grow a healthy bowel culture. Guest guest
My infant had the same dairy intolerance. I was breastfeeding and had to give up dairy completely to cure my baby's colic. It worked instantly. I didn't produce enough milk so I started supplementing with a goat's milk, rice milk, whey protein, probiotic, multivitamin and flax oil homemade formula....which worked for a couple months and now she refuses it....she only wants the breast or coconut water. She is 10 months old and eating a lot of different home made foods, so I don't worry that she is not getting nutrition...but my two concerns are.... is she getting too much sugar from the coconut water? (she drinks about 15 oz a day) and are the aluminum cans that I buy the juice in going to leach any harmful toxins to her (BPA, aluminum etc)? I have the same concern with the coconut milk you mention that you buy at Trader Joe's (the aluminum can leaching toxins). Has anyone heard about this and is there any validity to the concern? Also, @ cocheesie420.... what type of beta glucan do you buy? I didn't see a liquid form, how do you give it to an infant? Crush the tablets??? Thanks > > > Not true. Guest guest
anything that comes from a metal or plastic container is contaminated with plastic..and is largly dead because its heat treated to last. Its tough, but fresh is always better, esp for babies growing up.
Guest guest
Hey, I use NSC-24 beta glucan. It's in a capsule, so you can open it and add it to food. It's great! I buy it from My Natural Market.com Deb > > > > > Not true. My 9 month old son has been on coconut milk since about 6 weeks > > > old. The formula in the store is 55 percent CORN SYRUP SOLIDS.
