Mustafa,

I am assuming you have had all the necessary investigations into your hip

pain?

Is the fracture healed? Is the joint in the right position etc etc.

Most people say the hip is the easiest joint to do... Well I have to

disagree...

I found the hip a very hard road to go down.. Harder than my knee.

I say it takes a year for a new joint to feel like it belongs to you or is

part of your anatomy.

And doesn't feel foreign.

I have had 4 hip replacements and unlike some people I found this surgery

very difficult indeed

Perhaps because it was done the posterior way, I don't know.

I had to go back to PT as I wasn't walking properly for some reason I looked

a bit like a duck.

That helped a huge amount and now I walk quite well unless I am tired etc. I

don't have any pain

Now just weakness, that's only on the left which has been done 3 times, the

right is perfect but I think

by that time came I was an expert at doing the exercises etc.

What have your PT and doctors said to you?

to all members of THR

i joined this group 4 months ago and followed most of the correspondance. i

have

had my THR in the left side 6.5 months ago but still limping with some pain

when

i stand up and start walking and also during walking and after PT. i am 60

years, lateral approach, metal to polythelene, replacement due to a fracture

of

the femur neck. is it normal to have such limping and pain after such long

period?. i listened to my PT and some doctors , but i think that you can

give

better advises from your collected experience.

Thanks for all

best wishes

Mustafa
