HI ,

I take a calcium supplement.

CB

I've found that you have to be real careful + read those pasta ingredient

labels... they may have additional wheat or semolina in them... it seems

that the er4yt pastas we've tried have been stickier/chewier than the

wheat/semolina pastas... I'm having trouble getting used to them so have

avoided them altogether lately!!

saw your message CB on unfermented soy sauce.. so, how do you get your

calcium? if not from soy or dairy...

Steve? where are you, are you en route to the US?

Hi Mike,

There are a lot of people are looking for pure Artichoke pasta. I haven't

heard of any one who has found any yet. That doesn't mean it isn't out

there. It just hasn't been found yet.

Glucomannan noodles and glucomannan fiber powder really constipates

me, even though I take lots of vitamin C and lots of Magnesium.

About 30-35% of the weight of hempseed is hempseed oil or hemp oil, an edible

oil that contains about 80% essential fatty acids (EFAs); i.e., linoleic acid,

omega-6 (LA, 55%), alpha-linolenic acid, omega-3 (ALA, 22%), in addition to

gamma-linolenic acid, omega-6 (GLA, 1-4%) and stearidonic acid, omega-3 (SDA,

0-2%). Hempseed also contains about 20% of a highly-digestible protein, where

1/3 is edestin and 2/3 are albumins. Its amino acid profile is close to

" complete " when compared to more common sources of proteins such as meat, milk,

eggs and soy.[20] The proportions of linoleic acid and alpha-linolenic acid in

one tablespoon (15 ml) per day of hemp oil easily provides human daily

requirements for EFAs. Unlike flaxseed oil, hemp oil can be used continuously

without developing a deficiency or other imbalance of EFAs.[21] This has been

demonstrated in a clinical study, where the daily ingestion of flaxseed oil

decreased the endogenous production of GLA.[21]

Hemp Seed contains a large dietary supplement of omega-3, higher even than

walnuts which contain 6.3% of n-3. These oils are known to improve memory and

strengthen brain cells.

However, there is one exception. You can get DHA from marine algae.

See: http://www.devanutrition.com/vegan_DHA.html

Tom,It sounds like you had some fun making that yummy whole food.KathyOn Mon, Feb 13, 2012 at 5:58 PM, tmatuschak <pmatus@...> wrote:

I successfully made whole wheat pasta tonight from the whole wheat I ground in the Vitamix.  I have made homemade pasta for sometime now but I have never made whole wheat pasta.  It wasn't as hard as I imagined but the dough did require a little more hand kneading.  I chickened out of forming the dough in the Vitamix fearing the container would fly off the stand and opted to the old reliable food processor for that chore. The container on my Cuisinart locks to the base so I don't have to fear the dense pasta dough jumping around.  Forming the dough in the food processor and pasta machine makes pasta making a pretty simple project.

Does anyone have a pasta sauce they would like to share?

Tom
