Guest guest
These are always great tips. Thanks Alice. There is another product as well which I'll mention and that is Homozon. It is MgO, natural, and gentle and works very well. That is a combination of Magnesium and Oxygen with a chaser of lemon juice to activate it. Well known in the alternative health field. Having lived with pain meds for 2 years prior to 2 hip replacements, I consider myself an expert--for my body in this moment. Tried: prune juice, milk of magnesia, senna, fresh fruits. Comes a time when you cannot cram another food into your body without your colon exploding. At my worst, a new product (for me) was recommended: biscodyl suppositories, generic of Dulcolax & Fleet suppositories. It worked well within an hour and was very gentle. Happy New Year to all of us and our joints! Alice in Boulder
Guest guest
Yes, that was the worst!!!! Senna got me moving along with glycerin suppositories. It was so long I was getting really scared. What they gave me in hospital and by prescription (!) was stool softener. Duh! I was prepared the second time around and that was easier. Constipation and depression are two of the most untalked about aspects of surgery. At least this one is easy to deal with once you have ³the right stuff². So I¹m glad you brought it up and those about to have surgery can be prepared. Glad you¹re moving on. Guest guest
Baby glycerin suppositories also work. Had I had any idea at all that constipation would be a problem in the hospital (I never have trouble with that) I would have packed those little guys. They are cheap and really help at the other end..... groan....dash Re: Another product in the fight against med-induced constipation Yes, that was the worst!!!!
