Only while I was in the hospital then I used an ordinary pillow.

-- Question about hip replacement

About how long do you have to use the triangular

pillow between you legs while you sleep on your back?

Lynn, do you live in the U.S.? This pillow is pictured in the

pamphlet describing a hip replacement that is at my OS office.

I thought it was standard. BARB

Yes, I do...I'm in Northern Virginia.  It was never talked about in the pre-op

class, doc's office, and none of the other folks in my area mentioned it.

Lynn, it is a booklet from Krames Patient Education

titled " Total Hip Replacement--Returning to Movement. "

It says that " a foam wedge, a brace, or pillows may be used

to keep your new hip in place during early healing. "

It shows a huge foam wedge placed between the legs. The

legs are strapped to the wedge so to hold them in one

position. I have been told my OS uses this wedge.

Any others of you heard about this wedge? BARB

I had this wedge in the hospital for the first day or two but never after

that at re-hab or at home.

That's good to know........it looks quite cumbersome and

confining......I am very touchy that way.......hate to be confined

in any way..........BARB
