Guest guest
Adrienne, you just reminded me of something I have been meaningto add to the pre-op/post op medical devices necessary for surgery. This is a handy dandy item that I got which truly helps me in and out of the car. It is called Handy Bar. You can get it at Amazon for as little as $14.95. The link is below if you want to see it. http://tinyurl.com/yj6egtl It inserts into the strong steel bar that your door latches into when you close it. Won't hurt your car at all. It is incredibly strong and a great aid for getting in and out of the car. I put it on my 'must have list' along with the sock aid, shower chair, raised toilet seat, and walker, etc. I also got a fabulous three wheeled walker with a basket and food tray. Looks like those spiffy three wheeled golf carts. I love that thing. Let me know if you want to see a link to it. And going out into the real world makes me feel like a human again, instead of a housebound crip. Plus being off the narcotics I can now drive relatively safely (left knee was the op) so the gas pedal foot ® works OK. Pain getting in and out of the car though. Keep at it, it WILL get better.
