The RBC glutathione test would give a good baseline for where your

glutathione levels are now. Also, if you never noticed in the

archives NONdenatured whey is superior to UNdenatured whey in

providing benefits.

Hi Rivka!

If you search the archives, you'll find various posts, including

advice to me when I asked the same questions about 8 months ago.

Here's my experience, for what it's worth.

I believe you do need to take it on an empty stomach for best effect.

I usually wait about 1/2 hour before eating, after taking something

that says " take on empty stomach " . I usually just mixed it with a bit

of water to make a paste. I like the taste; not everybody does.

With ImmunePro, I started out with 1/4 tsp also. No reaction. Doubled

it. No reaction. Started measuring on a kitchen scale in grams. Got up

to 2 grams, still fine. Doubled that to 4 grams. So far, so good.

Doubled that to 8 grams... and BAM! Fever, aches, felt lousy, spent

most of that day in bed.

I stopped the ImmunePro for a week, and then started back more

gradually. That went better. I worked up to more than 10 grams a day.

When I took it, I often felt a slight flush 15-20 minutes afterwards.

This let me know that it was having an effect on -something- in my

system. However, even after taking it for more than 6 months at

suggested levels, I didn't see any noticeable improvement.

So I don't know what to think. I had a herx-like reaction going from

4gr to 8 gr, but didn't feel much overall improvement after sneaking

up on a greater amount. Oh, and when I discontinued it, I didn't

really feel any change either. I don't discount the possibility that

it was doing something beneficial at a low level, but for me it wasn't

anything dramatic. It could be that my system can't use the

nondenatured glutathione properly. I think one of Rich's papers

addresses this, but my brain isn't remembering the details. Some

people report improvement, so I'd say it's worth a try.

My brain is empty now. Hope my comments help.

Is anyone concerned about buying ImmunePro (I wouldn't buy the

RenewPro) and having it shipped in this heat? Won't it lose some

of it's nutritional value? Or, is 3-4 days in a mail truck, mail

box, warehouse something that I shouldn't worry about?

I have been meaning to bring this topic up for a while.

And to the person who asked the question below, yes, increase your

dosage gradually, take it on an empty stomach, and wait about

one hour before eating anything else, otherwise, you could mess

up the Ph.

I get concerned for all my supplements in summer. Sometimes they show up truly

warm.Took 10 mins for the shipment from Yasko to return to room temp.

Mike,

Awhile back, I had a real concern about the same thing. My distributor assured

me that in the dry form, it would not be compromised, and I was ordering from

across country. I may have chosen 2nd day air, at the medium cost.

But, check this out...call Well Wisdom themselves and ask them...beyond just

getting a robot answer. We'd still be trusting the integrity or positive

knowledge of who you ask.

When ImmunoPro first came out, I did speak with the owner about various matters,

and at that time, had full confidence in him/the company.

It's tough these days to know if anyone has full integrity and knowledge about

anything, but I think it's worth the inquiry.

Some things are compromised by cold temperatures...Nexavir gel for instance. Yet

they assure me it is safe sent out these days (summer)... I order 2nd day air.

Some companies/pharmacies with products they know will be compromised by

temperature

*require* them to be sent out on ice, or overnight, or 2nd day air.

Other points...

~~~
I try to avoid something being in transit on the week-end.
~~~

UPS *says* nothing sits around in the heat...but parked in cool wherehouse.

~~~
In some regions and times, sending by US Postal Service *may* risk irradiation
(security).
~~~

I think it's empty stomach for IP for 30 minutes after, 2 hours before.

And mixed with water...possibly yoghurt/milk is OK? can't recall...I just use

water.

We can keep making the inquiries on all of the above, closest to the source.

I had an email exchange with the renewpro people last year during the

heat, after my shipment was left on the front porch all day, and they

said it was not an issue.

Actually, it ought to be fine up to 98.6F in any case, right? ;-)

I don't particularly like the taste of the whey. How much whey do you need

daily? I bought packets. How many times per day, and for how long a period of

time? Does it produce positive physical benefits that you can see and how long

does that take?

Also, what would cause a white coating on your tongue? I have seen thrush

before and I know it isn't that. My tongue is just not pink. Also, My mouth is

always dry feeling and I feel like I have bad breath all the time. I brush my

teeth and gums and even the insides of my mouth. Would oil pulling help any of

this? I feel like I am falling apart. HELP!!!

Have you tried unflavored whey? That's the one I buy and I like it. I make

a smoothie with it every morning.

As for the white tongue, that's candida (thrush). If you do a spit test in

the morning when you first wake up, I'll bet it'll come back positive.

You can purchase unflavored whey protein isolate at Fruitful Yield stores.

I suspect whey in packets is much more expensive than buying when in

large jars or bags. I also suspect the size of a dose in a packet is

far less than what I would call a dose.

Unflavored whey is not real yummy to me. I blend unflavored whey and

vanilla whey (about 1:1) for better flavor while keeping carbs fairly

low.

I make whey taste yummy by using far less water than the instructions

tell me to use, and adding an ounce of heavy cream. I use a pint of

heavy cream every 8 days and I see no weight gain whatsoever.

I use Jay Robb and it's reported to be the best tasting of all

whey's....I'll vouch for that---it's the only one I can use with just water,

and I'm

very picky about taste......

I am just not a breakfast person. However, I can do whey, altho much

simpler than most: 1/2 glass milk w/a scoop of unflavored whey.. The

flavored forms are just too overwhelming.
