Guest guest
Hi Shirley, I live in eastern NM not far from Texas so I went to Dr. Greg in Amarillo which is only about 130 miles from home. The ice machine is simply an Igloo ice cooler with notches cut out for a hose that runs to a plastic pad that the water flows through. You just put in either ice (takes a lot) or 6-8 12 oz frozen water bottles. You put the pad on your knee held in place with an ace bandage and turn it on and it pumps the water through the lines to the pad and back to re-cool. Don't know if that makes sense at all, but it is WONDERFUL. It is like having ice on your knee without the weight of the ice pack. Hope this helps and good luck with your surgery!
