Guest guest Posted May 7, 2009 Report Share Posted May 7, 2009 The purpose of the commode with knee patients isn't just to have it at bedside.it's easier to get down/up on/from it with the handles and it being raised over the regular commode. You won't know what you'll need until at least a day or so after the operation. The 3/1 commode is the only one insurance usually covers. I declined it as I seldom got up to use the bathroom after bedtime. And I could walk the distance at the hospital. Didn't need it. You may not either.
