Guest guest
Plus there is, last I heard, no " one plan' to BE published. Reading one or the other side's representations of " Here is what is being proposed " is not the same as reading the actual bills as they are presented. (My favorite line from teh crowds is still ' " Keep your government hands off my Medicare! " ) In a message dated 8/12/2009 8:04:39 A.M. Guest guest
You could not have read the plan since there is NOTHING in the plan which would bring " everyone under one plan " -- It is not even clear if there will be a public option at this point. The majority of those under 65 still receive their health care through corporate plans which are precluded from using the public option, it is mathematically impossible. Why wouldn't one use Medicare when the " perils of government involvement are used to frighten people as the original poster did. The original post stated that health care would be rationed. I merely pointed out that hips are not rationed under Medicare which is a SINGLE PAYER PLAN WHICH IS RUN BY THE US GOVERNMENT and public option for those under 65 is would be a choice. You are quite wrong on the health care delivery systems in the UK, Canada, Germany, Switzerland and all the rest of the Western Democracies. There are a number of Canadians on this thread who have received excellent care and none of them have to worry about becoming bankrupted by a medical emergency. Again, this is not the appropriate forum for a political discussion -- especially one which is fueled by misinformation. I apologize to the 99% of the list but the lies are insidious and should be refuted by FACTS. Guest guest
Do you have a copy of the actual bill or a synopsis that has been published by the insurance companies that is full of lies. There is absolutely no plan to eliminate care, just usless excess tests. I our health care is so good as it is why are we ranked 37th in the world behind all those countries that you mentioned. Again you are spreading untruths. Guest guest
Jujulabee, Unfortunately the people spreading these lies are not really interested in facts. They listen to the fear tactics and the smear machine and take that for truth because it's easier for them to do that rather than taking the time and putting in the effort to do a little research. I don't think you need to apologize for bringing out the truth. You (nor I) brought up this topic and wouldn't have here but it is necessary to refute the lies. Thanks, Jeff ________________________________ From: " jujulabee@... Guest guest
Yes the single payer plan run by the US government. The same forces attempted to scare the people back in 1965 by shrieking about the horrors of government. Guest guest
please stop.....everyone (not just this post). ________________________________ From: <sparksals@...> Joint Replacement Sent: Wednesday, August 12, 2009 1:36:23 PM Subject: Re: Pray that there is no Oh-Bummer Care Hmmm have your lived in Canada? Have you ever used the Canadian health system? No, you are listening to the right wing propaganda from other media frenzies who have never experienced the Canadian healthcare system. The canadian system is TOP NOTCH. In fact, some of our standards are higher than that of the US. The kicker... no one goes bankrupt in Canada because of medical expenses. There may be a short wait for some procedures, non life threatening/ elective procedures, but you know what... the line is always open. Unfortunately, there are many ill Americans who can't even get into the line b/c they don't have affordable health insurance or can't get it b/c they have pre-exisiting conditions. I find it extremely hypocritical for people to criticize the Canadian system when 1. they know nothing about it, 2. they have not experienced it, 3. they are listening to media zealots who have not experienced it either. No system is perfect. I grew up in Canada and now live in the US. I would take the Canadian system any day period. I have had to wait months to see a primary physician for a physical in the US. I waited months in AZ to see a dermatologist when I had a skin condition that spread and resulted in additional lengthy care to get rid of it. Never did I wait that long in CAnada. Ever. I have elderly parents who are well taken care of medically b/c of the Canadian system. Despite being on a fixed income, they can afford their prescriptions and they don't have to worry about medical expenses. Before you say how bad the CAnadian system is, I suggest you do your research and not criticize something you know nothing about. Guest guest
You are so right. If you don't vote and you have nothing to complain about. And you said it so proudly. Sheila Re: Pray that there is no Oh-Bummer Care If you don't vote, you have no right to complain. > > > First of all I never vote I'm not a right wing or left wing, these topics were what people were talking about I listed the bill so that people could look at each one and read for there self what the bill says. > I'm off this list one can't even list the bills were a person can read them for them self with out getting all kinds of crap and words I don't need this. I put out the statements people were making so they could see what it said. I have looked for this bill for days wrote the white house (no answer) to find it for myself. What did I get called a bunch of names for it so much for people wanting to be informated. > Sharon LeVine > > >
