Guest guest
Does anyone have any information on this custom made implant (patient specific)? Its supposed to preserve more bone than a traditional implant. Thanks http://www.conformis.com/index.asp
Guest guest
A couple years ago I investigated device manufacturers and lots of other things while seeking a solution to my knee problem which resulted in a TKR. I'd heard knee resurfacing was coming in and that conformis was probably making the prosthesis. So I called them, pretending to be a surgeon, and asked how many resurfacings they had used them for...the rep told me none. So I dropped that idea. I've now had both knees TKR'd and my OS, Dr. Coon, is now doing knee resurfacing (no bone cut)along with his quad sparing TKRs, but he's not using conformis. I don't know of anyone who has had a conformis prosthesis. A good place to look at prosthesis results is the Australian Joint Registry which lists the prostheses and results they've had with each. I can't remember a Conformis being used. http://www.dmac.adelaide.edu.au/aoanjrr/documents/aoanjrrreport_2009.pdf Hollie > > Does anyone have any information on this custom made implant (patient specific)?
