Guest guest
Hello folks, Very new to your forum. I am trying to understand whether a 3 to 7 day coconut detox diet is for me. I am sure you all know about it; 10-14 TB of coconut oil during the day, lemon water, no food. Iam thinking on this to treat bad gut dysbiosis and candida. Do you have any thoughts/recommendations/concerns/etc about it? Specifically, I'd like to know if I can add some antiparasitic herbs like uva ursi, olive leaf, etc. Your comments will be much appreciated. . Guest guest
As I understand it, you'd better stay quite close to the bathroom when you do this! Guest guest
I totally agree with your comments. One overlooked area is the the adrenal system. Adrenal fatigue could be the underlying problem and very few MDs are trained to deal with that. Check Dr. Lam's website on Adrenal Exhaustion. Guest guest
, All I know is that i would never take coconut oil on an empty stomach. This will cause severe stomach ache and painful diarrhea. > > Hello folks, > > Very new to your forum. I am trying to understand whether a 3 to 7 day coconut detox diet is for me. Guest guest
Laurie, Joan, Nick, and Dan, You comments are appreciated. You see, I started thinking of this cleanse because what I learned from the Gerson therapy. The folks on the therapy have a castor oil treatment that involves 2 TB of castor oil orally. You'd do this every two days. They support nutrition with several juices per day and detox with enemas. It sounds violent, but I decided to do a few. My problems are a severe gut dysbiosis (with unwanted bacteria and yeast), helped by a suppressed immune system caused by mercury. I noticed that every time I did the treatment with castor oil, I'd feel better. Eventually I concluded that it was because of the antibacterial effects of the castor oil. Even with the diarrhea caused by the castor oil, the fact that lots of bacteria went away benefited my body. This is why I've been considering that something like this, although a bit rough, may have some stronger and lasting effect. I know that the castor oil is more antibacterial than coconut oil and this is why I was thinking whether there is something else I should add, like garlic, uva ursi, etc. Thanks again folks. . > > > > Hello folks, > > > > Very new to your forum. Guest guest
Part of me actually agrees with you Dan (Dam was a typo, right? or ar you cursing me know? ha, ha. I am only joking). I see it as a balance that allows nutrients to be absorved, others to be manufactured, others to be eliminated. This is why I am not looking into pharma drugs. I am going to do one day of the coconut, and see what happens. I'll report back to this forum in case somebody is curious. . > > > > > > Hello folks, > > > > > > Very new to your forum. Guest guest
Joan, I am in agreement with you. I have dome so many life style changes. I am in this race for quite some time already and have done many many things and seen many folks. Somethings good, some not at all. Still in the race. After the coconut thing, I plant to continue a 4 day rotational program that I had started a couple of weeks ago with really good anti-fungals, that seemed promising and supplement with beneficial bacteria. I know that it is a step back in a way, but I am hoping that it helps clean the gut, so that the program and probiotics can work better. May I ask which yeast did you have? I will add probiotics during the detox. I had been thinking about that already and your suggestion makes perfect sense. Thanks Joan for your comments. . > > > > > > , For the record, I don't buy into the 'kill the bacteria, yeast, fungal' > > > theory. As an engineer in the past, we use micro-organisms to digest toxins in > > > the land.  Today, there is mounting evidence of the use of parasites, bacteria > > > etc...to cure cancer, gut problems etc... Guest guest
Joan, I much appreciate your thoughts. You have obviously thought quite a lot about the gut and its health. I am glad that things look much better today for you. The test you mention. Is that the regular cultured 2-3 week stool test, or is that something different? I have heard people overcome dairy intolerance using kefir and kefir grains. I am giving it to you at cost. I know that each case is different. Dom kefir's site (that's how you can find it) talks about it. I'll report back. Today after 10 TBs and 12 hrs in, I am still surviving. Some nausea, cold body and that's thankfully it. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > , For the record, I don't buy into the 'kill the bacteria, yeast, fungal' > > > > > > > theory. As an engineer in the past, we use micro-organisms to digest toxins in > > > > > > > the land.  Today, there is mounting evidence of the use of parasites, bacteria > > > > > > > etc...to cure cancer, gut problems etc... Guest guest
Ok good, I did the same stool study. You see, even though I've been in the US for a while, I still manage to try to say something and say another. I meant to say that I gave you the info of the kefir the way I had heard it, without adding, or subtracting anything, without proving it correct or false. I myself don't sell anything. However, I do happen to have kefir grains. If you ever change your mind and want some grains for you to make your kefir, they are yours free. I like the idea of coconut yogurt. Do you blend coconut with its water, add the probiotics and keep the temperature properly? Thank you Joan. > > > > > > > > > I had Genova Diagnostics Comprehensive Stool Analysis....so helpful....they even gave three different methods of treatment from most " natural " to most effective drug treatment and suggestions in between. > > Thank you for the offer of kefir and or grains at cost, but I avoid kefir in all forms. Kefir has uncontrolled yeasts and yeast is another one of my sensitivities. I make a flat, non-yeasted bread with spelt and have made some positive progress with adding gluten into my diet with no ill effects. > > I use probiotics and have good result with feeding them inulin. I also make coconut yogurt using probiotics. I have made good gains healthwise with this method. I now can tolerate So Delicious coconut yogurt as it contains S. Thermophilus, L. Bulgaricus, LRhamnosus, L. Acidophilous, Bif. Bifidum, and Bif. Animalis. > > In the last four years I have made four attempts to add some perceived " safe " form of dairy back into my meal plan with no positive results so I have resigned myself to life without it. Hidden dairy causes me great digestive distress. My detox system remains compromised from its gargantuan efforts to rid my body of the yeast toxins so I eat with care. At this point I believe it is not just lactose that is the issue, but casein (the protein) that is causing problems. > > Thank you again for the offer, > > Joan >
Guest guest
Since I do not have raw unsalted cheese, what about 1 or 2 Tb of kefir made with raw pastured milk? I am thinking on adding the above to the 2 tb of coconut oil every two hours.
