Guest guest
, Coconut oil acts like a solvent which is why it has a 'detoxifying affect' however, most people require their deficiencies to be filled before doing lengthy and powerful cleanses. I suggest you do if for a day (24-36 hours). It would be better to do 1 day per week for 6 months while you build up your deficiencies. If you get rid of toxins only you will still be left with deficiencies. Also, consider that cleansing requires more nutrients therefore, you could create more deficiencies.  Dan Do The CURE www.dothecure.blogspot.com www.danhegerich.com 413.663.4985 skype; blue.collar.healer Lenox MA ________________________________ From: <@...> Coconut Oil Sent: Sat, November 27, 2010 10:36:01 AM Subject: Re: 7 day coconut oil detox  , All I know is that i would never take coconut oil on an empty stomach. Guest guest
, For the record, I don't buy into the 'kill the bacteria, yeast, fungal' theory. As an engineer in the past, we use micro-organisms to digest toxins in the land.  Today, there is mounting evidence of the use of parasites, bacteria etc...to cure cancer, gut problems etc... Weinstock treated 29 patients with the parasite trichinosis from pigs and cured 90% of their IBS in 6 days. Today we are actually too cleane and everyone is on the 'cleansing' bandwagon. If you google verotoxin you will find that researchers are using the 'fecal matter' of E-coli to treat cancer with impecable results.  I'm certain what ever you do will bring you the results, positive or negative, that you require for your journey. Enjoy the ride, Dam ________________________________ From: mromargarcia <mromargarcia@...> Coconut Oil Sent: Sat, November 27, 2010 11:37:24 AM Subject: Re: 7 day coconut oil detox  Laurie, Joan, Nick, and Dan, You comments are appreciated. You see, I started thinking of this cleanse because what I learned from the Gerson therapy. The folks on the therapy have a castor oil treatment that involves 2 TB of castor oil orally. You'd do this every two days. They support nutrition with several juices per day and detox with enemas. It sounds violent, but I decided to do a few. My problems are a severe gut dysbiosis (with unwanted bacteria and yeast), helped by a suppressed immune system caused by mercury. I noticed that every time I did the treatment with castor oil, I'd feel better. Eventually I concluded that it was because of the antibacterial effects of the castor oil. Even with the diarrhea caused by the castor oil, the fact that lots of bacteria went away benefited my body. This is why I've been considering that something like this, although a bit rough, may have some stronger and lasting effect. I know that the castor oil is more antibacterial than coconut oil and this is why I was thinking whether there is something else I should add, like garlic, uva ursi, etc. Thanks again folks. . > > > > Hello folks, > > > > Very new to your forum. Guest guest
For me I think that (a coconut oil fast) would create the perfect intestinal storm.... the already less than optimal/life-enhancing " bugs " have dominance over the intestine now and then you beat them all back (even what " good " bacteria you have) and then who takes over???? One of the missing pieces to this plan is repletion of " beneficial " bacteria. At least supplement with a quality probiotic along with inulin to feed them. I went along with the regular medical world (I had dysbiosis and yeast--undiagnosed) and essentially did what you are planning to do with the preps for endoscopy and coloscopy. After each procedure I got sicker....even pointing this out to the gastro....his dismissive fianl comment was, " It's functional. " and that left me further weakened and unable to work....still with endless diarrhea and no hope for a solution. One stool test months later showed a rare yeast....diet, diflucan and supplements (not coconut oil) made a huge difference. Make sure you are not digging you sickhole deeper....what you have is probably functional (esp. if medical paths have been followed) and naturopaths are trained to deal with functional issues. Food sensitivities need to be determined as well as many other factors. Once one has had severe dysbiosis, lifestyle changes are a must to stay well. Joan Part of me actually agrees with you Dan (Dam was a typo, right? or ar you cursing me know? ha, ha. I am only joking). I see it as a balance that allows nutrients to be absorved, others to be manufactured, others to be eliminated. This is why I am not looking into pharma drugs. Guest guest
I had geotrichosis from eating homemade monzerella cheese from the farmer's market. Years later I found out that a number of people got sick....most of them recovered fairly quickly except one child and me. My diet was actually quite a good one, but I had had a round of antibiotics and then had the cheese and the rest is history....for me the perfect storm and combination of events. By the time I discovered a naturopath, I had severe leaky gut, dysbiosis, and nutritional deficiencies along with acquired syndromes. Regular medicine did nothing for me...not even diagnosing the geotrichium (and I got tested for many things)....funny how a simple stool culture with the alternative folks can give so much valuable info. I have made great gains, but remain extremely sensitive to any dairy in any form. Five years ago undenatured whey protein worked really well for me, but now it is an instant migrane, rash, and diarrhea. Life is good if I remain dairy free along with a good diet with low sugar, lots of greens, no nitrates or nitrites or preservatives, some key supplements including digestive enzymes. I wish you luck with your plan. Joan Joan, I am in agreement with you. I have dome so many life style changes. I am in this race for quite some time already and have done many many things and seen many folks. Somethings good, some not at all. Still in the race. After the coconut thing, I plant to continue a 4 day rotational program that I had started a couple of weeks ago with really good anti-fungals, that seemed promising and supplement with beneficial bacteria. I know that it is a step back in a way, but I am hoping that it helps clean the gut, so that the program and probiotics can work better. May I ask which yeast did you have? I will add probiotics during the detox. I had been thinking about that already and your suggestion makes perfect sense. Thanks Joan for your comments. . > > > > > > , For the record, I don't buy into the 'kill the bacteria, yeast, fungal' > > > theory. As an engineer in the past, we use micro-organisms to digest toxins in > > > the land.  Today, there is mounting evidence of the use of parasites, bacteria > > > etc...to cure cancer, gut problems etc... Guest guest
, So, the only thing you have consumed today is 10 TBs of VCO? How many days are you planning on doing the detox? Thanks for keeping us posted. Theta Joan, I much appreciate your thoughts. You have obviously thought quite a lot about the gut and its health. I am glad that things look much better today for you. The test you mention. Is that the regular cultured 2-3 week stool test, or is that something different? I have heard people overcome dairy intolerance using kefir and kefir grains. I am giving it to you at cost. I know that each case is different. Dom kefir's site (that's how you can find it) talks about it. I'll report back. Today after 10 TBs and 12 hrs in, I am still surviving. Some nausea, cold body and that's thankfully it.
Guest guest
I had Genova Diagnostics Comprehensive Stool Analysis....so helpful....they even gave three different methods of treatment from most " natural " to most effective drug treatment and suggestions in between. Thank you for the offer of kefir and or grains at cost, but I avoid kefir in all forms. Kefir has uncontrolled yeasts and yeast is another one of my sensitivities. I make a flat, non-yeasted bread with spelt and have made some positive progress with adding gluten into my diet with no ill effects. I use probiotics and have good result with feeding them inulin. I also make coconut yogurt using probiotics. I have made good gains healthwise with this method. I now can tolerate So Delicious coconut yogurt as it contains S. Thermophilus, L. Bulgaricus, LRhamnosus, L. Acidophilous, Bif. Bifidum, and Bif. Animalis. In the last four years I have made four attempts to add some perceived " safe " form of dairy back into my meal plan with no positive results so I have resigned myself to life without it. Hidden dairy causes me great digestive distress. My detox system remains compromised from its gargantuan efforts to rid my body of the yeast toxins so I eat with care. At this point I believe it is not just lactose that is the issue, but casein (the protein) that is causing problems. Thank you again for the offer, Joan Coconut Oil From: mromargarcia@... Guest guest
Pasturized Dairy? Or Raw Dairy? Two totally different foods. With gut issues one must ferment the dairy and always start with raw patured butter with a small amount of raw unheated honey. Butter feeds, lubricates, and rebuilds mucus membranes. Raw cultured butter milk is also a boon to the gut. Lassi is an Ayurvedic beverage with 1/2 fermented milk/kefir or yogurt with 1/2 water blended for 3-4 minutes on low. Add in fresh ginger, cinamon, cardimon, cumin, fresh black pepper, and a few grains of sea salt ( I don't use salts so I use the brine of shell fish or celery juice). Some people can only drink the liquid whey from making cottage cheese by letting raw milk sit in a cabinet until the curds and whey separate. Then strain through a hemp sprouting bag or organic non-bleached muslin fabric over night. You will require something to adsorb/absorb the toxins in your intestines. 1 sugar cube peice of Raw unsalted cheese every 30minutes with 1tsp of raw butter or the coconut oil works and so would an intestinal fiber such as Garden of Life Detoxification Fiber or Health Forces Intestinal Drawing Formula. Have one morning and evening followed by 2oz of raw applecider vinegar in 8oz of water and 1T of raw unheated honey. Shake to mix. Look to recolonize your large intestine with a colon reflorastation kit- www.myrealhealth.com And certainly consume fresh raw coconut cream or the virgin fermented coconut oil. Guest guest
: Why do you call it detox? The coconut milk mix with probiotic and inulin is a very beneficial drink by itself in any case. Why do you use kefir grains? To ferment it? Anyway, if you do detox, do you consume only the above and no other food for 7 days? I wish I could follow you but here in India we don't have kefir and the coconut milk in the market has emulsifier and stabilizer added. --------- Ratan Singh, Phone: 91 141 2652561, mail: ratanpsych@... - Certificate in Food & Nutrition; Diploma in Nutrition and Health Education; Life Member, Nutrion Soc.
