Guest guest
, no, I had DHEA for a few months but soon elected to use the DHEA precursor pregnenolone because it can also create progesterone, which most middle-aged people are low in. In my view, if the body has a tendency to create hormones in balance, then give it the precursors and see where you're at before tinkering with a working system. all good, Duncan > > My daughter has had DHEA recommended for her (because DHEA is low and for high cortisol). Do either of you take this and if so, how much? Am also wondering about the time release form. Any thoughts, anyone? > > >
Guest guest
Thanks, Duncan. Actually, for her, it is not a working system, but we will monitor things. Any other ideas on reducing her high cortisol? Tis causing a lot of high anxiety for her. , no, I had DHEA for a few months but soon elected to use the DHEA precursor pregnenolone because it can also create progesterone, which most middle-aged people are low in. Guest guest
Hi ; yes, I've helped many people reduce cortisol and adrenaline, and also normalise/increase thyroid activity. In most cases what was shoving those levels around was bowel dysbiosis, which physically stresses out the biology so produces stress issues, and often also causes high blood pressure. My " whey-selenium-inulin " protocol falls short on its own; extra vitamins and minerals are also required to allow for some bowel malabsorption. Malnutrition caused by a degree of malabsorption also causes stress. I'll use zinc as an example. Zinc is needed to make stomach acid; inadequate stomach acid doesn't allow proper digestion, and improper digestion elevates pH in the gut, allows toxin load to rise, and eventually stresses the adrenals and reduces thyroid. And importantly, inadequate bowel acidity results in malabsorption of zinc, so simply giving zinc doesn't help as much as we'd like. One needs to address malabsorption by helping the probiotics maintain the acidic condition in the bowel, as well as supplying extra mineral and also the acidity by maybe giving zinc as a citrate, drinking mineral supplements with orange juice etc, to ensure the acidity is present. Most other minerals similarly require acidity. If it's not currently acidic enough in the gut, the flourish of bad bacteria will let one know. This may not be what buddy is experiencing but it appears to be the case in the majority. My doctor said he believes that 80% have a poor to bad bowel culture and making sure it's good would be a good first step since death begins in the colon. At least, one can reduce this complicating factor. all good, Duncan > > Thanks, Duncan. Actually, for her, it is not a working system, but we > will monitor things. Guest guest
I've been buying Source Naturals sublingual pregnenelone 25 mg online, at a good price from either vitacost or netrition. No mistake, you should even feel more strong and vital with this supplement and it's a wonderful addition to an anti-aging program. all good, Duncan > > > Thanks for that (again) Duncan... > > Can you recommend a good source for a high quality pregnenolone? >

Last question - dosing... how much, and how often? Is there some general rule of thumb, or is this just 'experiment and see what works'? Thanks again... Guest guest
I take 25mg preg once daily; wife takes 50. If I skip a day I take 50 and if wife skips it's still 50, the most common dose bought and used. all good, Duncan > > Awesome, thanks! Last question - dosing... how much, and how often?
