Hi ,This is a very scary scenario that you describe, but unfortunately, it is happening to babies all over the country...it is part of a larger epidemic affecting children of this generation. The other major problem babies of today are having is reflux/vomiting and an inability to tolerate their mothers breast milk. You may suggest to your friend that she take the top food allergens out of her diet (start with dairy and wheat, then go to soy and corn) if the baby is breastfed--if baby gets formula, then a non-dairy formula would be the next step. Vaccines can play a role in dysregulating the immune system which can in turn contribute to food intolerances, but it isn't always as simple as that (there are more complex mechanisms going on as well). For more information about why this is happening to our babies/children, please visit www.epidemicanswers.org, the website of Parents Ending America's Childhood Epidemic (PEACE). You may also refer your friend to www.a compromisedgeneration.comEmail me if you have questions.Beth Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerryFrom: "bmandrusiak" <bmandrusiak@...>Sender: Vaccinations Date: Tue, 28 Sep 2010 19:17:30 -0000<Vaccinations >Reply Vaccinations Subject: blood in stool Hi,I am wondering if someone can help me out. My friend was freaking out because when she was little her brother died of an intestinal problem where one intestine grows inside the other (not 100% sure of the details). I am a little worried because her daughter is vaccinated and in a little less than 3 wks she'll be vaccinated again. Could this problem be from vaccinations? If so, is there somewhere I can read about it and send it to her? Thanks

Possible problems with Rotarix noted. Increased

risk of

intusussesception.

http://online.wsj.com/article/BT-CO-20100922-713288.html

Corbett Dooren, " FDA Sees Possible Risk

of Bowel Problem with Glaxo's Rotarix, " Wall St. Journal, 9/22/10.

This is the one that competes with Offit's Rotateq made by Merck.

Here's the National Vaccine Information Center

page. Lots of info. http://www.nvic.org/vaccines-and-diseases/Rotavirus.aspx

My kids were grown before this hit the

markets. I had never heard of intussesception before now.

Good call, guys. The vaccine is given at 2, 4 and 6 months so this baby would have had two already. Very, very dangerous vaccine.

Thanks everyone. For 4 months now I send her articles on vaccinations and she won't listen. Her excuse is that her and her husband are both teachers and they can catch many diseases that they don't want their daughter getting.

Anyways, I sent her some info on the rotavirus. Now I can just hope she pays attention.

Also caused by the current rotavirus vaccines (both of them) and has been linked with the oral polio vaccine for years though I don't think that is used in the US any more?Definitely needs to look into this before getting the next vaccines. Second opinion recommended - preferably one from an holistic GP - not a regular Western medical doctor. All the best,MerylOn 29/09/2010, at 6:21 AM, Garbarino wrote:

ditto that. I mentioned intussesception because it sounds that could have been what her brother died from. And it's related to vaccines. Our state does not have the rotavirus vax listed on the schedule, however it is listed on the American pediatric association's vax schedule. So it is possible their pediatrician gave it or maybe not. don't know about other countries. To: Vaccinations From: cwaldman@...Date: Tue, 28 Sep 2010 18:00:38 -0400Subject: RE: blood in stool

I hear you. I know it wasn't a diagnoses and who knows if it is from the vaccines at all but if it is (or if it isn't) she shouldn't give the next vaccines until she knows what is wrong with her daughter. That's what I hope she will understand.

Pediatricians don't care what the state requirements are for schools, which is always changing anyway as new vaccines/boosters come along. It takes time to add these to the law (although I do recall seeing some wording such as "or whatever is recommended" maybe here in CT).

Oh, here it is: " Each local or regional board of education...shall require each child to be protected by adequate immunization against diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, poliomyelitis, measles, mumps, rubella, hemophilus influenzae type B and any other vaccine required by the schedule for active immunization adopted pursuant to section 19a-7f ..."

Peds recommend whatever they're told to by their "bosses." Maybe they feel parents shouldn't be limited to the law--who knows? But it's not their job to adhere to state law. That's OUR job as parents--and it includes exemptions!

If those parents vaccinate, I can't imagine why they wouldn't have gotten the rotavirus one. blood in stool> > > > >> > > > >> > > > >Hi,> > > > >> > > > >I am wondering if someone can help me out. , thank you for sharing that arcticle.

One difference I noted was this article says the

Glaxo Kline study was being done in the US,

and I thought the article I sent said it was

being done in Mexico. Just to mention.

,

I meant to send you this link earlier, in response to your question about blood in stools:

http://www.epidemicanswers.org/symptoms/symptoms-in-babies/

It talks about how blood in stool is often a sign of a food allergy/intolerance (even in exclusively breastfed babies). A sign that the mother is eating something that she shouldn't. (usually dairy, wheat, corn, soy etc.). I work with a lactation consultant in CT who has seen thousands of babies w/GI issues and she will relate that blood in stool is often resolved by addressing the mother's diet.

Please pass along to your friend if you think it will be helpful. I personally know quite a few people who have addressed the blood in their babies' stool by taking dairy out of their own diet. This does not mean that vaccines did not play a role in precipitating the problem, but adjusting diet can be a way of alleviating the symptom.

hope this helps,

Beth

Thanks everyone. For 4 months now I send her articles on vaccinations and she won't listen. Her excuse is that her and her husband are both teachers and they can catch many diseases that they don't want their daughter getting. Anyways, I sent her some info on the rotavirus. Now I can just hope she pays attention.

Good call, guys. The vaccine is given at 2, 4 and 6 months so this baby would have had two already. Very, very dangerous vaccine.

This was really helpful, Beth. My now 18-yr old son (partially vaccinated) was totally breastfed for a year, during which I did drink milk. He was always constipated and had what I saw as specks of blood in his stool. I had the doctor test a sample but she said it came back negative, yet had no answer for what it was. I never believed her because he didn't eat anything else.

Winnie,

I can't even tell you how many people now share this story. There are so many babies out there with colic, blood in stool, chronic constipation, chronic diarrhea, reflux/vomiting. . . you name it. I talked to dozens and dozens of mothers going through this when I was writing my book. It is a veritable epidemic. If you know new moms with babies showing GI symptoms, PLEASE tell them that they need to check out our website www.epidemicanswers.org and consider modifying their own diet to alleviate these symptoms in their babies. Fixing the GI issues and regulating the babies' immune systems is a whole other challenge, but taking the allergenic foods out will at least help alleviate the symptoms for the baby.

Thanks,

Beth

My is 4 mos old and is colic & fussy baby. IM gluten intolerant (suspect

he is too) and some where I read to cut out dairy for colic. Which i did and as

soon as I did his excezma disappeared. Didnt know the two were connecte, I

suspected he was sensitive from birth. When I get in by mistake he gets a a

patch on his cheek or below his ear. So I've taken it of my diet - He's STILL

fussy! Ugh! He still has foul smelling farts, he still cries sometimes right b4

he poops. What else could I be eating that I need to cut out?

Oh yeah- he's unvaccinated & EBF. His diapers if I dont take probiotics ( need a

new one to take) are green & foul. When I do take them they are normal

breastfeeding poopy diapers. I WONDER IF i did something to his GI by taing

probiotics during pregnancy. How do I tell if he has blood in his dirty

diapers?

Hmmm. That's a good idea. I had him adjusted right away(terrified he'd get his

collar bone reinjured - thankfully he didnt) i think it's time for another visit

or 2. Thanks!

Re: blood in stool

Hi Carlena - I had 2 very colicy babies and I know what that is like! we found

that chiropractic adjustments worked like magic - they were both posterior and

may have gotten out of alignment during delivery - all I know is, we went from

them sleeping 2 hours in 24 (that was when I had 3 children under 3 - I was

hallucinating from sleep deprivation - it was horrible!) to sleeping 6 straight

hours at night and 2 hour naps 2-3 times a day. Wow!

Anyway, YMMV but I just thought I'd mention it in case.

All the best,

Meryl

Thanks Beth for the link. I have recently become concerned about my 2 yr old daughter. I am so confused as to where to start (which provider to go to first, i.e., naturoprathic, chiropratic). I think she suffers from a gut issue. I'm going to look into that site a little better and hopefully I can help my daugther REAL soon.

well if she got rotavirus vaccine it can cause intasusception - what

you describe - the bowel telescoping inside itself.

If baby is constipated with hard stools could be a bleed from anus

area but if truly blood more than from hard stool, they should be concerned.
