Well, you find out by using it, Lyn and read up on it.

And even if you DON'T have any premenopausal symptoms, your hormones could

be out of balance and you wouldn't know it. Especially if you have any

amount of body fat. Gals that have some CUSHION here and there get through

Menopause a whole lot easier, with a lot less symptoms. BUT your

Progesterone could be VERY LOW and that puts you at risk for certain things.

This started when I was 40, so that is a bit early for even premenopause,

especially since being 5 years past that and I still have no other signs of

such. Five years ago was the worst part of my life and I attributed it to

the

stress I had then. But that stress is long over and it is still falling out

like crazy. So how do I find out if progesterone is the route I should

take?

Sylvia;

Hair loss is usually related to too much Dihydrotestosterone and/or too

little Progesterone, which happens quite often at or NEAR Menopause. Proper

levels of DHT combined with a proper balanced level of Progesterone will not

cause problems.

DHT (di-hydro-testosterone) is a normal metabolite of normal Testosterone.

When hormones are in balance we all (women & men) produce some DHT from

Testosterone. About 10 % of Testosterone becomes DHT. In a healthy body DHT

is balanced by Progesterone (they compete for the same receptor).

When hormones are In balance there is no problem.

My advice to you Sylvia (depending on your age) is go to your health food

store and get a jar of Progesterone Cream and apply 10 mg. per day (or a bit

less) for 3 weeks out of each month and take a week off without any cream,

going by your calendar.

Hi Bonnie:

I just came across BioSil two days ago and, of course, wondered if I should

try

it. My problem is hair loss for the last 5 years. I have tried many natural

routes. No none have stopped it, only slowed it down. And none have regrown

any

in all this time, it just keeps falling out and it is officially very thin

now.

I know purity is an issue with anything we put in or on our bodies and it

grieves me that I have to be the one to cover my butt for everything I use;

I

can't just trust anyone's brand. So it may be that purity was not there with

each thing I tried. One thing I have been using for months and am staying

with

is FoTi. But then again, the question is, is the purity there? I do not

know

how to find that out. I may be just wasting my money on the brand I am using

of

FoTi. Use has been about 4 months for this. I am also taking coral

calcium/magnesium/D, among other whole foods.

So can you recommend this expensive BioSil to do what I need? What exactly

does

it do?

The most BIO-AVAILABEL Silica is called BioSil here in Canada made by JARROW

in California and in the US, I think it is called JarrowSil or something

similar.

It works on hair, skin, nails, bone, connective tissue, the inner lining of

the ARTERY called the Tunica Intima and I've seen it work GREAT within 2

weeks.
