Guest guest
I have found that the key to controlling problems is a blend of doing research & being willing to experiment on myself. I probably read various health e-lists and websites at least 20 hours a week, then post what I discover into my blog so I can find it later. I learned to treat doctors as my enemy. When I was taking glyburide and started taking supplement I told the doc I was going to stop the meds. She freaked out. She pressured me real hard to not stop the meds. She attempted to frighten me into being a good little patient and taking my medicine. I was stubborn. When she realized I would be stopping my meds in spite of er dire warnings, she wanted me to have a hemoglobin a1c test for long-term glucose levels after I had been off the meds for a few months so she can see how badly my blood glucose control was doing. When she got the results back, she did not know what to say. My hemoglobin a1c was less than 6. She told me to keep on doing what I have been doing. She copied down the supplements I was using, then told her boss (my doc was an intern). Her boss was furious. She took the piece of paper with my supplements listed, tore it up, and reprimanded my doc for showing any interest in treatments other than the drugs they prescribe. Guest guest
this is soooooo informative, thanks Alobar......... I'm 61 and have taken charge of my health for about a decade.......the only prescribed drug I take now is for thyroid, but I was on blood pressure pills, cholesterol pills, anti-depressants, anti-anxiety, etc......I got off all those on my own, with my own determination...... I take a bunch of supplements now, and I feel healthier than I've ever felt.............L O V E that coco. oil........!!! I have a lot of friends with diabetes, and they are miserable, fat, on many medications, unhappy with their diets, compainers.........I try to talk to them, but it goes in one ear and out the other, so I've stopped, and just watch them with love, hoping they will awaken one day to their own power to heal.......... Blessings, Margaret Heaven is within us. It has nothing ultimately to do with thoughts of someone else, and everything to do with what we choose to think - not just about one person, but about all people. nne on
Guest guest
Interesting how doctors have evolved into intimidating dictators with inflated egos. I had the same stuff happen when I told the doctor that I had stopped giving my mother her cholesterol-lowering drugs because it was causing some bad side effects. phine > > I have found that the key to controlling problems is a blend of doing > research & being willing to experiment on myself. > > I probably read various health e-lists and websites at least 20 hours > a week, then post what I discover into my blog so I can find it later. > > I learned to treat doctors as my enemy. Guest guest
Wow, I had 3 doctors who told me NOT to take the cholesterol drugs because of the side effects. One said he had a patient die from it. Isn't it interesting how they all contradict each other but they know they are right and you/or the other doc is wrong? Now, I just smile politely and poll another doctor before ultimately making my medical decision. Guest guest
I work around many people who do not take care of their health. As they die, one by one, I am very clear to point out the reasons those people died. The lessons begin to sink in to younger people who begin to adjust their priorities in life. Yes, it is slow work. I suspect there will be at least 2 more funerals in the next few years. When I began working on Square, here in New Orleans, back 16+ years ago, there were many Tarot card readers, musicians, clowns, mimes who were older than I was. Now, I am the second or third oldest. Guest guest
Alobar honey.. we all die from lack of breath and the time of our passing is not really in our hands.  We just have different quality of life, often due as you say to neglect of health and so on.  i have had many instances of people who should have died for many reasons.. perhaps falling from a height and surviving... apparently miraculously but I just happene to think it wasn't their time to leave.  Possibly had lessons to learn or some other business. just live each day, squeeze every drop from it and enjoy your life  Rosie > > > this is soooooo informative, thanks  Alobar......... > I'm 61 and have taken charge of my health for about a  decade.......the > only prescribed drug I take now is for thyroid, but I was  on blood pressure > pills, cholesterol pills, anti-depressants,  anti-anxiety, etc......I got off > all those on my own, with my own  determination...... > I take a bunch of supplements now, and I feel healthier than  I've ever > felt.............L O V E that coco.  oil........!!! > I have a lot of friends with diabetes, and they are  miserable, fat, on > many medications, unhappy with their diets,  compainers.........I try to talk > to them, but it goes in one ear and out  the other, so I've stopped, and just > watch them with love, hoping they  will awaken one day to their own power > to heal.......... > > Blessings,  Margaret > > ------------------------------------

Guest guest
Thanks - are you referring to the articles on side effects of cholesterol drugs or a specific article? Guest guest
My blood pressure is fine (between 88/65 and 100/67). I have never had cholesterol checked as that costs money I do not have. I suspect if I had a cholesterol problem my blood pressure would be a lot higher. I don't keep track of how much coconut oil I use, but I estimate I use about a 2/3 gallon a month Alobar On Thu, Jun 10, 2010 at 11:32 AM, Bonnie Cole <bonnieview@...> wrote: > Alobar: > > Do you eat MORE than 3-4 tbsp.
