Guest guest
Glad to hear it, Jackie! You will love your new knee! Put a pillow on the recliner seat to help with the height, and see if that helps. Bill in MN > > > Hello all, > > My new knee is with me as of last Thursday. Guest guest
Jackie! So glad you are doing well! My new knee is in place and doing fine since last Tuesday. I guess since I knew what to expect it hasn't been too much pain for me this time. Glad you have a good PT. Mine is good as well! We'll be dancing in a couple of months! =)
Guest guest
Good to hear things are going well, ! I¹m being set adrift from home health care at the end of the week. Looking forward to the knee classes etc which sound quite extensive. Had home PT today and have 105 degrees flex and I think 3 extension, which the PT woman was happy with. I am weaning myself from the narcotics. Don¹t need them as much since the swelling has gone down considerably. AND I really need to have a bowel movement!! I¹ve been using ice a lot since the beginning but only began elevating a few days ago ‹ don¹t ask me why just wasn¹t thinking. Adding the elevation really moved the swelling enormously. I¹m using my homemedics chair which is also very relaxing. Best wishes for continued good recovery. This really hurts in a way that just can¹ be explained but I guess I¹m getting used to the pain, and the stretch feels good once the pain subsides. Dancing sounds good!!!!!!! Guest guest
Bill and all other readers, For my last two surgeries, each doctor had me on stool softners at the same time as the pain meds. They basically said, take one of these each time you take a pain pill and it has worked. You can buy them over the counter. Mike From: Bill <wwblues2@...> Subject: Re: Jackie's new knee! Guest guest
Glad to report my senakot moment in the wee hours this am. I was given stool softener in hospital aNd was discharged with prescription too. Talked with nurse friends and pharmacist who suggested. Magnesium or senna. The narcotics slow or prevent peristalsis so something is needed to restimulate those muscles. Senokot was the over-the-counter they recommended for me. I didn't take them at first, then learned why I should have listened to them. Life was better after!
