Vit C

Hi ,

In view of not taking any vit C, at the moment, and fruit and

vegetables may not provide enough, the original rcommendation stands

that Ester-C looks like it might help, notwithstanding my misconception

of its content.....ie it's not an ester, it's a salt.

As Chuck kindly pointed out, Ascorbyl Palmitate may be the other

alternative as 'named' in his post, and being deliberately fat soluble,

it should help with oxidative damage to the cell membranes and those

components inside the cell, also susceptible to oxidative damage eg

mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum etc.

If you can't tolerate it in either of these forms, maybe hope that your

adrenals have a temporary supply which they're hanging onto.

Ultimately, scurvy will tell if that's not the case.

The Royal Navy lost a lot of men on longer voyages, to scurvy, until

limes were obtained and the juice used to keep them alive....the

name 'Limeys' didn't occur by accident.

best wishes

Bob

Hi Bob,

I have started taking the Vit C that I already had at home, 1000mg, from Holland and Barret. I have made sure that I take it with food and all seems ok at the minute, I do now take Omeprazole for acid reflux and that helps a great deal with the indegestion I was having so thinking about it it may not have been the Vit C causing it, I dont know. Omeprrazole is very effective and will probably protect my stomach while I am taking HC--- On Sat, 30/8/08, bob.m9uk <Bob.m9uk@...>

TPA is not medically qualified. Consult with a qualified medical practitioner

What are you taking that makes it impossible to take Vit C?

Vit C is critical in healing the symporters and acting as an antioxidant for the toxins that are released with Iodine. Do you drink OJ? Many things have Vit C in foods. You can take Iodine w/o it I suppose but I am not sure how you will do since it is something that is recommended together and everyone I know does it.

Hi! I can not take vitamin C due to interference with something else I'm taking. Is it safe to take iodine anyway? Thanks!

Hi Judith

http://profiles.nlm.nih.gov/WG/Views/Exhibit/narrative/szeged.html

Though no mention is made of manganese in his Nobel Lecture/bio... Szent-Gyorgy recommended manganese ( good source ~ wheat germ ) to facilitate the use of vitamin C.

The days, I use NOW brand Ascorbic Acid and Now brand Sodium

Ascorbate. I mix the powders in a 2:1 ration of Sodium Ascorbate to

Ascorbic Acid.

Since Vit C is a very important companion nutrient I am wondering if anyone has tried Lypo-Sphericâ„¢ Vitamin C ?I just learned of it and it is suppose to be equivalent to getting IV vit C. This sounds remarkable. Is it hype or is it real? Or something in between?

Google on Livon Labs to read about it.

I used it when I had my amalgams removed because my DDS didn't do IV therapy. It is more absorbable because of its lipid structure. It's really expensive though so I did not continue to use it.

Yes, it's really good stuff.

Anne makes her own homemade lipospheric Vit C, it's very interesting and I would

love to have her post the material on that again. I want to make it also.

I found the Livon Labs vitamin C too expensive and then found several sites that

offered directions to make your own Liposomal C at home.

The one fact that convinced me to try this method (and I did with great

success)was the reported benefit of a mid 90% bio-availability of the Lipo vs.

about 16% of the " standard " vitamin C.

Here's a link with some pretty good information:
