Duncan, your use of cyst(e)ine is confusing to me. Why are you using (e)?

Is cyst(e)ine the same as cystine? Or it is cysteine that is unstable and toxic

as you used to say?

Please clarify.

My whey isolate from London Drugs contains 640 mg cyst(e)ine per 30 gram scoop.

The grass fed below contains 256 mg cyst(e)ine in 17 grams, quite a bit lower.

all good,

Hi Ratan, I use the term cyst(e)ine to indicate the cysteine I refer to is in

the bioavailable forms, rather than saying " cystine and other

cysteine-containing amino acids but not free form cysteine which is handled as a

toxin "

Cystine is cysteine=cysteine joined in a covalent bond. In this form it's

bioavailable and not a toxin.
