Since you have a 7-hour trip home, you should discuss with your discharge coordinator that it might be to your advantage for them to send you to a near-by rehab center. Most of them are in nursing homes and take care of surgical patients who need physical therapy. They might be able to keep you 2 weeks, then you would be so much better off physically to make this very long trip. It would depend on your insurance, but Medicare allows it up to 20 days. > > > > Hi everyone!
