Guest guest Posted November 11, 2008 Report Share Posted November 11, 2008 At about 7 months post op for a THR my leg started swelling. My doctor tested for a blood clot and infection; both negative. Two months later I am still swollen with intermitent pain and nightly discomfort. After a CTscan, my doctor said he thought I was hypersensitive/allergic to the metal in my hip replacement and that I would most likely need another surgery to replace the metal with plastic. Has anyone in this group encountered this diagnosis before and if so, what action was taken? Thank you for any information you can give to me.
