Guest guest
Hey Tara, I'm glad you're feeling better. It sounds like you have some very good goals to work towards. It's good to let someone else do the stressing over the small details. You just sit back and enjoy. Guest guest
That's great news Tara! I got married last summer and I was an anti-bridezilla too. As long as it fit into our budget and wasn't ugly, I was all for it. I remember telling the florist, " whatever you think looks good... " and everything came out perfectly. I am not a girly-girl to any degree, and I didn't have any expectations for what my wedding should be. It turned out to be a great day, really really fun and most importantly, meaningful. I was just telling my husband the other day how I kind of miss the wedding planning that I did last spring. He looked at me like I was crazy. LOL. Where are you going for your honeymoon? Hang in there, good luck in your next challenge! I'm so happy she's involved though. Anyway, just wanted to thank everyone for their kind words and support. I'm starting a new 12 week challenge next week which will end right on my wedding day! Then I can take my honeymoon week to relax and EAT!!! My goals- 125-130 pounds (up 5-10 pounds), 13-16% bodyfat (up from 10% right now), lift heavier and keep making progress on weights....limit my cardio to 3 times HIIT and 1 day of fun activity. Most importantly, I'm going to keep a journal, and not weigh myself more than once a week. > > Tara
Guest guest
WOOHOOO!!!! I'm so happy for you. As one who can't seem to crack 135, I understand. My head knows the scale changes from minute to minute, but my heart needs to see it under 135 since I've been stuck for so long. WAY TO GO! > > Ok so if yall remember I was DYING to see the scale go down below 160 last > week, and today, IT FINALLY DID! I haven't been in the 150's in over a year > at LEAST... Guest guest
YAY KRISTIN!!! If your scale weight went down and you BF% went down you realy ditched some fat last week!!! If I were you, at that bf%, I would try to ignore the scale weight. The only place that is relevant now is in figuring your BF%. ! Guest guest
Yup, and I KNOW that 2 month from now I'll be whining about how I just want to get below 155, but I have been looking specifically to the goal of dipping below 160 for about a year now so it's a big deal for me Good point about your HEART needing to see that number... I totally know what you mean Re: Hooray! > WOOHOOO!!!! I'm so happy for you. As one who can't seem to crack 135, > I understand. Guest guest
Yeah I started eating closer to 1500 calories a day and I think my body likes that more OH, and now I'm a little unnerved because I don't use calipers, just a measuring tape and most websites are putting me at like 27% BF, another at 25% and biofitness at the 22.9%... So I've been using biofitness and of course to me what matters the most is that according to biofitness it has *moved* from 31.8 to 22.9%, but it's still annoying to have that big of a range, you know? Guest guest
, that type of range in bodyfat percentages is pretty typical, I have the same experience. I go with biofitness as well because it is the closest tape measure based bf reading to my 1-site caliper reading. The tape measure bf calculators are based on the law of averages, and virtually none of us meet the standard average so the bf % are always an estimate. Depending on where you tend to store your fat (apple vs. pear), different tape measure readings will give different answers. have you considered getting a caliper reading at a gym or from a trainer? You could then get an idea which of the tape measure calculators is closes to that reading. Not that it is a big deal either way, though. As long as the numbers are going down, things are working! In the end, it is how you look in a mirror that will matter the most, not the bf number from biofitness, calipers or anywhere else. And congratulations!! Keep it up, it is amazing what we can achieve with persistence and consistency. >>>>>> OH, and now I'm a little unnerved because I don't use calipers, just a > measuring tape and most websites are putting me at like 27% BF, another at > 25% and biofitness at the 22.9%... Guest guest
For the first time, and 9 weeks to the day post RTKR, I went to the grocery around noontime and did the whole place, every single aisle (some twice), without pain or limping - it was normal like it hasn't been for over 4 years! Now, I did have to use some ice in the early evening, but WOW - the surgery, the pain, the discomfort, the frustrations, the setbacks, the PT, etc., has been absolutely worth it. I'm all but completely off Percocet (maybe one a week after I've overdone it working in the yard for 3 hours +). I hate to sound like Sally Field, but it works! it really works! Couldn't have made it through without you all! Joy and regards, Robin in NWFlorida
