Back a few months ago, was on Real Time with Bill Maher. The

conversation turned to something to do with people of short stature. People

such as this prefer to be mentioned as " Little People " or dwarfs. Well,

sat there on this show and referred to MIDGETS several times. To

little people, this is the " M " word, much the same as using the " N " word. My

husband and I immediately contacted 's office in Richmond and D.C. to

advice him that he had spoken these words without thinking. We spent a whole

day

educating on dwarfism, and we did get SORT of an apology from his

people. By the way, our daughter, Martha Stanley, is a diastrophic dwarf, a

VIRGINIAN by birth, 3 feet tall, and a middle school drama teacher in

Chesterfield County VA. DOES NOT think before he speaks. Does

this all

ring a bell with the current events that concern saying inappropriate

things?
