Guest guest
, Please do post your SHHH convention pics! A listmember on one of the other CI forums I belong to, posted photos and I felt like I was there. Since I wanted to be there so badly for the learning and connections, photos are the next best thing. Your husband sounds like a supportive, loving husband to have enjoyed being with you and enjoying the people you met. Hang onto that guy!! He's a keeper. I'm making plans now to attend at least one CI-related convention in the next several months. Jealousy over not being there doesn't suit me well...LOL!! Guest guest
Sounds like you all had a great time at the convention.Wish I was there...sigh..It would have been great to meet all of you who are in the CI Hear group and the Clairion as well.Oh well one of these days I will go to the convention so I can meet other CI'ers as there is not many where I live to compare notes with.I feel I know most of you but would rather to meet face to face.It would be great. convention Hello to everyone, I want all the convention goer to know how much I enjoyed meeting them. You give me great hope. Thanks for making me feel so welcome even though I am still some what new to the group. I loved more then anything putting faces with the names that have been so supportive. My husband took lots of pictures and I hope to post some soon. I learned so much and the convention was a huge eye opener for my " hearing husband " . He put this on his name tag and got lots of attention because of it. I told him once that he would be the odd man out, he never really expressed feeling that as much as feeling pride of being a part of such a warm and wonderful group. To all of our friends who did not make the trip I hope a convention can be part of you furture you would really enjoy it. With kindness, Seahutch in TN
Guest guest
it stinks, we live 30 minutes from the convention but we didn't have to $$ to register. Who knows when another one will be in this area. Di Convention I wish I could be with all of you this year. I am a real veteran and have been to 12 conventions. Yes, the rooms are cold. Make sure you at least attend a few minutes of the dances to watch the young adults and teens have a REAL social life. It will make you want to fight for it all the harder. If you are attending with your spouse, divide up the workshops, take copious notes and come back and compare them at the end of the day. Bring some food for lunch or breakfast that you can keep in your room. We never had a bellhop blink an eye when we came in with our cooler full of milk and juice and sodas. Since they can cost up to $2.00 in the hotel. I always carried a teenage babysitter with me. Hope this helps. Elaine
Guest guest
I know what you mean, Di. Because we just moved, the convention didn't work for us money-wise. Jackie, Mom to 15ds, 12, and Bradley
Guest guest
Thanks for all the suggestions. Elaine - the teenage babysitter sounds ideal. Not a option for us this year. In a couple of years Nick will be old enough to go to the teen/young adult gatherings, and that's when we figure we'll really enjoy going. Two friends are going also, and we are all staying in one hotel room, LOL. Bringing a sleeping bag for Nick. They're leaving the family at home. All our boys are the same general age, and have grown up together. Better get going. still getting ready to take off. Convention > I wish I could be with all of you this year. Guest guest
I didn't mean I thought they were on a mission to take out as many lp's as they could, by targeting the CONVENTION. They are talking about using chemical warfare and I wondered if that was making anyone think twice about leaving their home. Amy

Guest guest
Sorry, but I think the chances of terrorism striking us at that hotel in SF. is less than that of an earthquake. Guest guest
Yes, the convention is the first thing I thought of when I heard of the new terrorism alert Not that they would bomb the hotel but San Fran is a populated place. However, we have had the reports of possible terrorism before. We just have to be more aware of what's going on around us but, not stop our lives for something that might or might not happen. HELLO!
