Guest guest
It's almost a year to the LPA 2009 New York City Conference! The Dwarf Artists' Coalition (DAC) will again be holding its creative and celebrated annual exhibit - to be curated by Cachia and on-site liason, Alysha Abrams. This is a good time to remind those excited visual professional and aspiring artists who are thinking of participating in the exhibit to start planning ahead of what you would like to showcase [especially if you are working on a series]. I know artists tend to procrastinate a lot (as I am one of them...!) so this should give you ample amount of time to maybe get cracking on that project you've been thinking of or finishing a painting in the basement! Unfortunately, we will not be hosting an exhibit this year in Detroit since and I will not be attending. Thus, we hope that NYC will draw a lot of attention and work, not just from the U.S. but hopefully garner from international LP artists as well. Art work mediums include (but certainly not limited to) paintings, illustrations, collages, graphic design, digital media, cartoons, advertising, photography, murals/printmaking/litho, poetry/prose, short stories and 3D art. We welcome professionals, recreationists and students. My hope is to have a program booklet of the participating artists' work as a keepsake next year. The exhibit is week-long, will include an Artists' Reception and we anticipate having an " Arts Day " with trip to the MET or MOMA (still in the works). We are fortunate to have a great NYC conference team including Petruzelli and are grateful for their resources. Please email Cachia at amanda.cachia@... or myself irene@..., should you have any questions. Thank you. Best regards, Irene Yuan, DAC ============ " The artist is nothing without the gift, but the gift is nothing without work.
