Guest guest
Hi Janice. There are all kinds of instant messenger programs out there but AOL is really funny that if you don't have THEIR specific messenger, you can't get into a chat room. If you Netscape, you can d/l their messenger and anyone without the AOL messenger can join together in chat. Either way there will be some who will have access and some who don't. There are other chat programs called IRQs. I think.. I haven't used them in years but they serve the purpose. Trying to remember the names of a few... hmmm, oh well. And there is also ICQ which is easy to download. No restrictions on this and anyone can chat. aW Chat Rooms I have tried and tried to go to the egroups chat room when people say they are there. says that I'm using the wrong password. I've emailed to ask for help. I've tried to use the suggestions I've seen others give regarding difficulty on logging on. All to no avail. I notice that many of us are AOL members. AOL has chat rooms. All you computer literate people out there. Is it possible for us MGBers to have our own chat room on AOL? Thanks - Janice
Guest guest
ICQ is a great program. It's where I met Rudie, and you all know that story ended well! I don't use aol but I do have IM, however I don't think you can chat iin an AOL room f you are not with them as a provider. Unless it's changed or there is a way to do it I am not familar with. I had many problems with also and had to email them about 5 times to finally get things fixed so that I could edit my memberships. I was a " member " of two groups, getting mail but when I pulled up my groups at , it didn't have them listed. I had to be persist with them b/c they kept sending me generic, form emails until I got politely assertive with them. I am sure, since the service is free to use they want to limit their technical support costs as much as possible. Cheryl
Guest guest
This service provides a chat program... but we have (what I think is a more user friendly) similar service on the Zapper site. Our most popular weekly session is at 8PM EST Thursdays.. but we have several other times on the schedule and ANYONE can start a session anytime. Many of our readers even use the page/program for family gatherings.., which is fine with me. Feel free to join the scheduled " support group " sessions.. or start your own. Just go to: http://www.ZapLife.org/chat/freechat/

Guest guest
As far as I know, the chat room is open all the time, it comes with the group. I don't know of anyone who uses it, though. This list is more of a notice list to discuss events happening of interest to those in the Pac NW. If you want to chat about bandster stuff, you might have better luck on our parent list, SmartBandsters. You are free to try to get a chat going, just pick a time and announce it, then see if anyone shows up. Guest guest
Cassy, You could try posting a day and time that " the Chat Room will be open " and see if anyone shows up. Maybe give at least a day of advance notice, because people may not check for messages every day. I'll try to visit whatever day/time you set up. Thanks for bringing this up; I just read something about one of the greatest concerns that people have these days is their " disconnectedness " . Maybe some of us can " connect " or " band together " . :-) (sorry for the pun ~~ 'twas intended). Phyllis > > I wish more people would come into the chat rooms.. Guest guest
Does any one know of a good chat rooms that caters to lps. I have tried the dwarfism channel on IRC but it keeps knock me into the dwarfism #2 room where there are very few people. Someone suggested http://groups.msn.com/LPAChat/ but this is a dead link. I would appreciate any suggestions. Jack Packard __________________________________________________
