Way to go Dan, I love NPR, the only thinking persons station. I hope we have

that show here, I'll be tuning in to listen for you. Just a note Dan, make

sure you have a glass of water on hand, an use the can even if you don't

feel like it. I had an embarrassing moment one Sunday morning at 6 am, there

I was, talking for 30 minutes, when oh my god, what an urge. Lucky for me

they went to a station break of 3 minutes, but it never fails to happen. But

you got people who are going to treat your topic seriously, and not like a

Stern Special. Good Luck, and hope to hear you here in Seattle on

KUOW, or KPLU.

" Little People " on national radio!

It's very unusual to get an invitation like this seven months after a book

is published, but they liked the idea of doing this just before the LPA

national conference.

" The Connection " is broadcast out of WBUR Radio (90.9 FM) in Boston, and is

heard on a ton of stations. Here is the list:

Unfortunately, if it says that the station carries only one hour, you won't

hear me, since I'm on in the second hour. But you can also listen live on

" The Connection " archives its shows, so you can listen later, too.

It's probably safe to say that this is the best radio outlet for an author

other than " Fresh Air, " so this is very cool. An LPA guest may join me, too

Thanks!

Thanks Dan, I will have to tune in via internet since the NPR

stations out here do not carry that program, they're not on the list

you posted.

I agree with Rob, I also am an avid fan of NPR-no annoying ads or

commercials screaming at you. Great programs if you can catch em'.

Here is one I have listened to a few times on NPR:

Dan,

I just had the pleasure of listening to the archived interview you and

gave. I've never heard of The Connection before, and was

impressed with the host's grasp of the subject, and his ability to

direct the discussion to skim most of the big issues that LPs face.

Kudos to you and for a thoughtful conversation that brings more

dimension to the subject for those unfamiliar with LPs and LP culture.

spoke candidly about dwarf culture and the sense of family and

belonging that it engenders. By dwarf culture, I inferred that she was

speaking of the community among LPA members. But, as you mentioned,

there are an estimated 30,000 dwarfs in the US, suggesting that a

large number of LPs are isolated from LPA dwarf culture (BTW, what is

the current LP population in LPA?). Is it right to think that American

dwarf culture is inseparable from LPA? If so, what does that really

mean when the majority (assuming there are more LPs outside of LPA

than in it) are not part of this?

What also struck me was the anecdotal remark about the tremendous

positive impact that groups such as LPA have had on families and

individuals who belong to them in comparison to those who have not had

contact with LPA. It will be interesting to compare these two groups

in a more systematic way, in terms of issues of self, family,

community, health, etc. There will surely be something to learn from

such a social study.

Thank you for passing on the link to the interview, and for writing an

engaging book that is now part of my library.
