Guest guest
The teacher of my daughter's kindergarten class read the book Thinking Big (which we fortunately had) to her class and told us she had a very positive response from the kids. My daughter also brought in her LPA lifetime membership certificate and card and showed it to the class during show and tell. Although this book is not in print anymore, many libraries do have it. Perhaps, the book should be xeroxed and made available at the national and regional meetings. Guest guest
" Thinking Big " is back in print, but now it's bundled into one book with " Mine for a Year " . It's available at Amazon for $13.95. Do a search on " Kuklin " and it will come up as one of the choices. Don't forget to enter Amazon from LPA Online! ) Vita At 11:48 PM 9/1/03 -0400, Levine wrote: >The teacher of my daughter's kindergarten class read the book Thinking >Big (which we fortunately had) to her class and told us she had a very >positive response from the kids. Unfortunately it was a challenge for my library to get Matt's Against Tall Odds book. It took them to loan it from somewhere else since they are the least funded library in land. They have some books on dwarfism, but not many. I think in both the public and school libraries these books on dwarfism should be available which is helpful for the teachers, students and for ones that have dwarfism or know someone that does. If someone doesn't personally know anyone with dwarfism how are they supposed to learn if there is no information such as books available for them to find out?
