Guest guest
A few days/weeks ago, some information was posted about flying into Oakland and getting to the hotel in SFO. Is this going to be a hassle? Can someone re-post the info, please? Thanks Amy
Guest guest
Just in case anyone else needs it: San Francisco International Airport is less than 5 miles from the Hyatt, and complimentary shuttle service will be provided to and from the hotel. Oakland International Airport is approximately 30 -45 minutes from the Hyatt, depending on the time of day. If you are flying in via Southwest Airlines, Oakland is your only option, as Southwest does not fly into San Francisco. Here is a listing of options if you are flying into Oakland. Option 1: A-1 Shuttle Service can transport you to the Burlingame Hyatt from the Oakland International Airport. Reservations must be made in advance by calling (toll free) 1-888-698-2663. It’s important to let them know if you have a scooter or wheelchair. Fees will be based on the number of people in your party. Option 2: From Oakland International, catch the AirBart Shuttle to the nearby BART station. Take BART to the San Francisco International Airport. From there the Marriott/Hyatt shuttle will pick you up curbside at the International Terminal and bring you to the Hyatt. Option 3: Cab Service: Cabs can be picked up outside the Baggage Claim area. > A few days/weeks ago, some information was posted about flying into Oakland and getting to the hotel in SFO. Guest guest
Oakland is a very easy and accessible airport, and getting to the SFO Hyatt is not that difficult. The Air BART shuttle costs about $2 and is wheelchair/scooter accessible. It will take you from the Oakland airport to the BART station. From there you take BART to SFO airport. BART will cost you about 5 bucks. The BART station at SFO is only about 100 yards from the Hyatt shuttle bus stop. The Hyatt shuttle is free. So for about $7 you can get from the Oakland airport to the Hyatt. It will take you over an hour, though. Cabs and other shuttles will be far more expensive. Southwest does fly to San as well (25 miles south of Burlingame), but you'd have to take a cab to get to the hotel (unless you've got friends to pick you up, which is what I do). So, if you're flying Southwest, and are willing to travel via cheap public transportation, Oakland is your best bet. If you are planning to rent a car, go through San . If you are not flying Southwest, go to SFO. Bill
Guest guest
I though I'd post just to let you know my personal experience with Oakland airport. I hate to travel and was stressed! But when I got to the airport I came outside and found a Bart shuttle immediately (4 or 5 dollars, I think, that included the Bart fare) which took me right to the Bart (a train) across from the Oakland baseball stadium and I had a nice relaxing train ride into town, about 30 minutes if I recall correctly. I thought it would be a hassle but it was very easy and pleasant. I didn't notice if it was handicapped accessible but from the posts I read here I understand it is.
