Guest guest
Hi Susie, I have the Original Lifelift video along with Workout 1 and the Reflexology video. I do the original a couple of times a month to refresh myself on the different poses and stretches. I do workout one about three or four times a week. I do the Reflexology everyday because it makes me feel so good :-). I do LL usually in the mornings along with the Five Rites. I do breaths during the day at work to give me extra energy. I do LL in the evening along with my aerobics or weight training depending which day of the week it is. It does give me an extra boost :-). I hope that this helps! Guest guest
>I borrow anything I can from the > library and try it (even Tai Chi!) just for something different, Our library no longer offers workout videos in any format. For a while they had a few and one yoga one, but no matter how many itmes I requested they get others, they always use the " budget restraints " excuse. Now, they say they 1) got rid of and 2) will no longer supply exercise videos in any format because there's no room and they're not big loaners, so they would prefer to purchase the latest movies to loan out. Also, magazines and videos are excluded from inter-library loans. Only books on paper, not even audio-books. Our library has been getting worse instead of better in recent years. I used to rent them from local video stores, but now even they don't have them. Blockbuster has a few (less than 5) that can be purchased, but none for rental. It's so frustrating, because these things aren't *that* cheap that I can ust go buy one and if I don't like it, give it away or donate it. Those days are long gone. I'm so glad I lucked into those Sansone videos back in the 1980's! >If you get 'em off > Amazon, be careful because they sell only the 1 and 2 mile in a very > similar case and it's usually just as expensive as the one with all 3. Also, some of her older videos, that she did back in the 1980's, have been repackaged with new names and released, and the photo on the package has nothing to do with the people on the video. I already got suckered once when I bought what I thought was a new older adult video and it turned out to be her 40-Plus workout in a new package with a new name. The store took it back when I brought my original copy with me and the salesgirl played both and was as surprised as I was. > OH! Sansone's " You can do Pilates " was truly for beginners. > And her " You can do Yoga " is great, too--simple, only 20 minutes, and > normally I'm not a huge fan of Yoga but I love that one. Thanks for this suggestion. I'll have to look into these. Sometimes her web site has clips of videos. Sue in NJ
Guest guest
Absolutely! You'll need to exercise to keep your metabolism up, burn fat, and tone muscles. Exercise and sex will not harm your band regardless of what you may hear. ;o)Seriously, exercise is vital if you want to burn fat well and tone muscle. When you lose a lot of weight you WILL lose muscle mass, there is no way around it. So the goal is to maintain as much muscle mass as possible and you do that by maintaining your protein, doing cardio and weight resistance. You can lose a lot of weight quickly but if you don't do it right you'll lose too much muscle and not enough fat. You'll be smaller in size but flabbier. Exercise is what is necessary to maintain muscle mass and I believe the average stats are for each pound of muscle you'll burn an extra 50 calories just walking around and breathing daily. One can be 130 pounds with lots of fat and not a lot of muscle or one can be 130 pounds, smaller in size, and have little fat and lots of muscle. It's a choice, however you want to do it.So tell us about this job with the Sheriff's Dept? Guest guest
Vicky, If I remember right, you'll be able to do moderate walking for the first 30 days and then add 15 minutes of vigorous exercise each week after that initial 30 day period. Check with the surgeon about intense workouts like you describe. vicky <vickyburns26@...> wrote: Ok So Im trying to get a job with the sheriffs and I need to do some rally hard workouts . Guest guest
Well This weekned I went for a Womens fitness test for the sheriffs and corrections. I had to drag a 165 pound dead weigth body so many feet in 9 sec and then had to run up and down staris in 13 sec . I had to run the 50 yr dash in 9 sec. I had to carry 30 pounds on my back and walk in between some cones and make a 8 shape in 17 sec and then I had to carry with a partner a 165 pound dead weight dummy on a stracher so many feet. And I past all of that but then I had to run 500 yrd in 2 min and 5 sec and that kicked my butt.Bipley <Bipley@...> wrote: Absolutely! Guest guest
Vicky, What you're describing, you will NOT be able to do in the first 30 days after surgery. We're not to lift anything heavier than 15# for the first 30 days.. lol vicky burns <vickyburns26@...> wrote: Well This weekned I went for a Womens fitness test for the sheriffs and corrections. Guest guest
You mean to tell me you can do those things now? are you sure you need the band? lol :-) Cuz before I was banded I could barely walk let alone run, do pushups, sit ups and all that jazz! You can work out after banding. But you will have to wait until you are healed before you can do anything really intense. And once you start to loose the weight after banding you will be able to do all those things much easier. good luck, > > Ok So Im trying to get a job with the sheriffs and I need to do some > rally hard workouts . I am 220, but I think I am smaller and wear a smaller size than most people my weight, because of how hard I work out, so I have more muscle tone and have lost tons of inches. So, this is a very true statement! :-) hugs, > > > > Ok So Im trying to get a job with the sheriffs and I need to do some > > rally hard workouts .
